Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is sacked by Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Sam Hubbard

The Cincinnati Bengals are coming off one of their best seasons in their history, mainly due to their playoff run to the Super Bowl. They will be looking to build on last year's season with major improvements to their offensive line in the offseason and defensively with their top draft picks.

Last season, the Bengals finished first in the very competitive AFC North with a record of 10-7. This was mainly due to quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver core Ja'Marr Chase, Tyler Boyd, and Tee Higgins. How many wins can this Bengals team get with an offensive line that can protect Joe Burrow and a beefed-up defense?

Let's take a look ahead at the expected win total for the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2022-23 NFL season.

Bengals Win Total Betting Odds

The Cincinnati Bengals' win total is expected at 9.5 with odds of +110 to go over and -130 to go under that total. This projection is shared by both the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens. The Pittsburgh Steelers, the last team in the AFC North, is predicted to achieve 7.5 wins this year without Ben Roethlisberger.

The Bengals have the third hardest strength of schedule based off last year's win percentage at .536 on average for their opponents. The only two teams with tougher schedules are the Los Angeles Rams at .567 and the Cardinals at .543.

It is tough to know how the Bengals will fare because they have had some key additions, but it won't be an easy road ahead.

2022 Schedule Outlook

The Bengals will start the season against divisional rival Steelers in Week 1 on September 11. From there, the Bengals will travel to Dallas and New York to face the Cowboys and Jets before returning home to take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 4. They will return to divisional play to face the Raven in Baltimore and then will travel to New Orleans to face the Saints.

In Weeks 7, 8, and 9, the Bengals will play at home against the Atlanta Falcons, at Cleveland, and at home against the Panthers leading into their BYE week in Week 10.

Following their BYE week, they will go on the road to face the Steelers and the Tennessee Titans before returning home for a rematch of the AFC Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs.

In Week 14, the Bengals will finish their season series against the Browns and then will travel to Tampa Bay to take on Tom Brady and the Buccaneers in Week 15.

To close out the season, the Bengals will go on the road against the New England Patriots and then finish with two home games against the Buffalo Bills and the Ravens.

Expected Outcome

The Bengals latter half of the season after their BYE week is probably the toughest in the NFL, and it will be hard to predict how those games will go, especially without knowing the injury outlook.

This team did win ten games last year, and they have only added talent to the team from last year. I think 9.5 games is fair, and if I had to choose, I would take the over rather than the under because I don't think this team will disappoint.
