On International Fight Week in Las Vegas, UFC 276 will be taking place and will be headlined by a UFC middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya (22-1) and Jared Cannonier (15-5).

Adesanya will be looking to make his 6th title defense against a tough opponent in Cannonier. Cannonier has been on the champ’s radar for a while now as he has been making his way up the middleweight ranks, including a big KO victory over Derek Brunson in his last appearance in a UFC octagon.

UFC 276 Adesanya vs. Cannonier Betting Preview

In this matchup, Adesanya is a big favorite at -455 over Cannonier. Adesanya is used to being the favorite in these title fights because of his long career of big fights in both kickboxing and MMA.

He is one of, if not the most skilled strikers in MMA history. A master of distance, creativity, timing, and precision makes him too much to handle for all opponents he has faced in the middleweight division.

Cannonier started his career as a heavyweight, and while making a massive body transformation, he still holds his power from his heavyweight days. This is an interesting fight because if “The Killa Gorilla” can touch Adesanya’s chin once, there is a chance the fight could end right then and there.

Cannonier is a +335 underdog in this one. He has a lot of confidence and is very focused on getting the job done.

This self-belief, mixed with his durability and power, will make him dangerous at any given time during the fight. Adesanya will need to be laser-focused for all 25 minutes to get out of this one unscathed.

Pick and Prediction

In this one, we will most likely see a calculated striking match from both fighters. And in that case, the advantage goes to Adesanya.

During fight week media day, https://www.mmafighting.com/2022/6/29/23188429/eugene-bareman-jared-cannonier-ability-walk-through-fire-above-israel-adesanya-recent-challengersCannonier kept reiterating that he is confident in his techniques and that he could touch Adesanya’s chin and win the fight. He does not want fight of the night honors; he wants performance of the night.

We all know it is much easier said than done to get to the chin of “The Last Stylebender.” He is a master at distance control, and the way he finds the reactions of his opponent to open up clean shots for him is remarkable.

I see Cannonier’s confidence allowing him to take risks that will put pressure on Izzy, but at the end of the day, Adesanya will just be too much for him. He seems to have a special kind of demeanor going into this one and promises the night to be iconic.

He has made iconic moment after iconic moment happen in his UFC career, and you really can’t bet against him doing it once again. His team is in Las Vegas with him, and they seem to be taking over the UFC every chance they get.

My final prediction is a dominant five-round performance by Israel Adesanya, hurting Cannonier several times and maybe even getting a TKO victory later in the fight.

Pick: Over 3.5 rounds -145
