The Reds are coming off a series win against divisional rival St. Louis Cardinals in their last series by winning the first and third games of the series by scores of 9-5 and 6-3. This is a good start for the Reds as that was the first series that they played since the All-Star break.

The Marlins are also coming off of a series win as they won two out of three against another divisional opponent of the Reds, the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Reds have won six of their last ten games. In comparison, the Marlins have won four games in that same span.

Expected Outcome

Although these teams are evenly matched with this game being played in Cincinnati, I have been liking the way that the Reds have been playing recently. They just picked up a series win against a 51-46 divisional rival and had some key series victories against the Mets and the Yankees just before the All-Star break.

I am riding with the Reds to win this series by winning three out of the four games. Game one will be tough to call with Lodolo having such a poor performance in his last appearance, but I like the Reds overall in this series in Cincinnati.
