Cincinnati Betting: Major League Teams

Cincinnati natives have three major league teams to back each season:

Cincinnati Bengals (NFL)

Cincinnati Reds - formerly the Red Stockings (MLB)

FC Cincinnati (MLS)

The Bengals are a major draw for Ohioans, and their appearance in the 2021 Superbowl did wonders for their national and even international acclaim. The Reds are five-time World Series winners, although their last triumph came back in 1990.

Still, the Great American Ball Park is one of the most iconic places to watch sports in the Buckeye State, so it’s worth backing the Reds for the intrigue alone!

FC Cincinnati is the Queen City’s newest major league team, founded in 2019. They are one of the newest franchises in the MLS and are still finding their feet, but the fact that there’s now a major soccer team in the city means that Cincinnati can compete with Columbus Crew when it comes to soccer bragging rights in the state of Ohio.

Other Sports Teams in Cincinnati

In addition to three major league representatives, the Queen City is also home to three minor league teams. The best known of them - the Cincinnati Cyclones - ply their trade in the ECHL and are a minor league affiliate to the Buffalo Sabres. Winners of two Kelly Cups, the Cyclones have a big fanbase in Cincinnati and produce some great stuff out on the ice.

You can also back the Florence Y’alls, who are three-time Frontier League champions. Located just 14 miles south of Cincinnati, the Y’alls offer a great alternative to the Cincinnati Reds for minor league baseball fans. Lastly, FC Cincinnati 2 play in the MLS Next Pro League and are a direct feeder team to the first team in the MLS.

College Sports in Cincinnati

When it comes to Cincinnati betting on collegiate sports, the Cincinnati Bearcats are undoubtedly the pick of the bunch. Participating in the Big 12 Conference, the Bearcats are a hugely popular football and basketball team, and the school is one of only two Midwestern universities currently competing in The American.

So, if your preference is to back collegiate sports teams in your betting slip as opposed to professional teams, the Cincinnati Bearcats are the team for you!

Recap: Cincinnati Betting Guide

With three major league teams, three minor league representatives, and the Cincinnati Bearcats at collegiate level, the Queen City is home to several high-profile sports teams that you can back from week to week. So, whether you cover the spread each week on the NFL or build a collegiate parlay, you have lots of Cincinnati-based teams to choose from.
