Starting Pitchers

Graham Ashcraft (CIN) - Ashcraft was lit up for eight earned runs in 1.2 innings pitched two starts ago against the Chicago White Sox. He responded by going 5.2 innings and allowing six hits and three earned runs in his last start against the Miami Marlins. He's 2-1 this season with a 3.95 ERA and 1.34 WHIP.

Austin Gomber (COL) - Gomber, a 29-year-old left-handed pitcher, is coming off one of his best starts of the season, allowing just three earned runs and five hits in 6.2 innings pitched against the Philadelphia Phillies. He's 3-4 with a 6.30 ERA and 1.45 WHIP.

Reds Betting Preview

The Reds are 6-4 in their last 10 games and improved to 7-14 on the road with last night's victory. They're batting .246 as a team, which is 15th in MLB, and hitting .247 against left-handed pitching (17th). They're hitting .242 in day games.

Cincinnati has the fourth-best record against the spread (ATS) record this season at 26-16, including 12-9 on the road. The over has hit in 22 of 42 Reds games this season, including in 10 of 21 road games.

Rockies Betting Preview

Colorado has been a decent hitting team this season with a collective batting average of .253 (12th), although they rank 20th in on-base percent (.314). They're not a patient team at the plate and rank last in stolen bases (14) - they also don't hit many home runs - just 37, which is 25th leaguewide - despite playing at Coors Field.

Colorado is batting .259 (7th) against right-handed batters and hitting just .240 in games following a loss. They're 20-23 ATS, including 7-14 at home.

Reds vs. Rockies Betting Preview

Colorado is a slight -120 ML favorite with a -1.5 (+160) run line. The Reds are paying out even money (+100) on the ML with a +1.5 (-180) run line. The over/under is 11.5.

Cincinnati has been playing at a high level as of late and should have a solid chance at taking the series with Ashcraft on the mound. At even money, the Reds ML is a real attractive bet for this afternoon's game.
