Cincinnati Reds players celebrate walk-off win against Rangers

The Cincinnati Reds (8-15) put an end to their six-game losing streak on Monday night against the Texas Rangers (14-8) at Great American Ball Park. They'll look to secure a series victory on Tuesday. Cincinnati hasn't won a series since their season-opening three-game set against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

First pitch for Tuesday's game is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. Let's take a look at the starting pitchers and expected lineups.

Starting Pitchers

Martin Perez (TEX) - A 32-year-old left-handed pitcher, Perez is off to a strong start this season. He's 3-1 with a 3.38 ERA but has a 1.55 WHIP. He's allowed at least five hits in each of his four starts this season.

Luke Weaver (CIN) - Weaver missed the first few weeks of the season and made his debut with the Reds last Thursday against the Pirates. He threw six innings and allowed four hits and four earned runs while striking out eight.

Rangers Betting Preview

The Rangers had their six-game winning streak halted on Monday night with a 7-6 loss to the Reds. Texas still has one of the best offenses in the league this season; they're averaging 6.6 runs and nine hits per game, which rank second and fifth in the majors, respectively. They're also top-five in batting average (.264) and on-base percentage (.342).

Texas is 6-4 on the road this season and 7-3 in their last ten games. Josh Jung has been one of the team's hottest players as of late. He was 2-4 with three RBI last night and has 16 hits in his last 12 games. He had a 10-game hit streak from April 11 to April 22.

Reds Betting Preview

The Reds, 3-7 in their last ten games, are still in fifth place in the NL Central, one game back of the St. Louis Cardinals. They're 7-6 at home, however, and just 1-9 on the road.

Pitching has been a major issue for the Reds, but Weaver's return could help turn things around. The former first-round pick has shown flashes of his potential throughout his career but has struggled with injuries and inconsistency. His first start for Cincinnati was promising.

Rangers vs. Reds Betting Odds and Prediction

The Rangers are -150 ML favorites with a -1.5 (+115) runline, while the Reds are paying out +130 on the ML with a +1.5 (-135) runline

Cincinnati's offense has been much better at home this season, with a .731 OPS compared to a .571 OPS on the road. They've also had a little more success against left-handed pitchers. They'll be in tough to win, but the Reds +1.5 (-135) is a sound bet tonight.
