Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant drives to the basket against the Cavs

The Memphis Grizzlies (32-19) visit Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Thursday to play the Cleveland Cavaliers (31-22) in a battle of two otherwise good teams treading water. Memphis, which won 11 games in a row from December 29 to January 18, is 1-6 in its last seven games. Cleveland is 4-6 in its last 10 games and haven't won back-to-back games since January 4.

Cleveland enters tonight's game without any injury designations, while the Grizzlies will be without Steven Adams and John Konchar. Adams, who is averaging 8.6 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, is out 3-5 weeks with a PCL sprain.

Memphis Grizzlies Betting Preview

The Grizzlies are still in second place in the Western Conference, but are now three games back of the Denver Nuggets in first. Memphis snapped a five-game losing streak on Sunday against the Indiana Pacers, but was unable to string together consecutive wins against the Portland Trail Blazers, losing 122-112 on Wednesday.

Memphis is 4-3 this season in the second half of back-to-back games, although they've lost each of their last two games in this scenario. The Grizzlies have taken advantage of home court better than any team in the league with a 21-4 record. They're just 11-15 on the road.

A fast-paced offensive team that plays well on the fast break and rebounds well, Memphis is tied for sixth in PPG with 116.6. They also have the league's best defensive rating at 111.1.

Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Preview

Cleveland has been unable to generate any sustained momentum this past month. Like Memphis, they've been great at home (21-6), but have dropped two of their last four contests at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Cleveland has the second-ranked defense in the league, although their offense isn't as efficient as the Grizzlies.

The Cavs average 111.2 PPG, good enough for 26th in the league. They are, however, a better three-point shooting team than Memphis. Donovan Mitchell is averaging a career-best 27.6 PPG in his first year in Cleveland and is shooting a career-high 39.1 percent from three-point range. Mitchell has been battling through a groin injury for the better part of two weeks. He had just 24, 11, and 16 points in his three games since missing a week of action.

Cleveland is now fifth in the East and just 4.5 games up on the New York Knicks in seventh place, the first play-in spot. Miami, which beat Cleveland on Tuesday, is just 1.5 games back of the Cavs.

Grizzlies vs. Cavaliers Betting Odds and Prediction

The Cavs are -228 moneyline favorites, which tells you just how important home court is in the NBA. Memphis is paying out +188 on the moneyline.

Cleveland has been alternating wins and losses for the past month and, given their home-court advantage, should win the game.
