Here's our entire 2022 MLB Home Run Derby Betting Preview & Outlook.
Longest Home Run Over 494.5 (-110)
Last season, the Home Run Derby saw a total of 309 home runs hit and the longest home run hit reaching 520 feet. Although it isn’t impossible, fans may not get to see a ball reach that distance but they can still hope for a ball to be hit over 500-feet.
Currently, the magic number that is going around for the longest home run over/under is around 494.5 feet. That is a solid number knowing the longest last season was 520 feet.
Pete Alonso to Reach the Finals (-105)
Looking to be crowned the winner of the Home Run Derby for the third-straight year is Pete Alonso who is also the current favorite to win. He will face-off against Ronald Acuna Jr. in the first round and then take on the winner of Corey Seagar and Julio Rodriguez in Round 2.
Alonso has made it to the finals and won two straight years so he is bound to make it a challenge to end his reign by at least making it to the finals to defend. With a chance to three-peat (or three-Pete) it is a solid bet to take for him to make the finals.
Juan Soto Longest Home Run (+350)
Following his rejection of a 15-year, $440 million deal, 23-year old Juan Soto has a chance to make up for his tough Home Run Derby loss from 2021. Last year, he had 31 homers in the first round but lost to Pete Alonso in the second round 16-15.
Along with making a solid run, he also broke the record for longest home run in the derby at 520 yards. He is currently the favorite to win this category and at +350 it is a hard number to pass up knowing he will likely have another year of over 30 chances to get one.
Kyle Schwarber to win Home Run Derby (+330)
Coming into the derby, Kyle Schwarber has the second most home runs in the MLB this year with 29 and has the most of all participants. Along with that, Schwarber comes in with experience in the derby as he hit 55 back in the 2018 Home Run Derby. He went to the final against Bryce Harper and lost 19-18 in the final round. Looking to make up for that loss, Schwarber starts off the first round with a pretty easy matchup against Albert Puljos and then will face off against Soto or Ramirez in the second round.
Four years after his final round loss, look for Schwarber to be in the mix in the end.
