NBA Rookie of the Year Best Bets
The 2022 draft class is a dark horse of recent NBA draft classes. This group of rookies is very deep and has lots of confident young men. The standouts are players like Chet Holmgren in Oklahoma City, Jabari Smith Jr. in Houston, and Paolo Banchero in Orlando. These three guys are the three favorites to win out of the bunch and all have good situations to become the Rookie of The Year.
Chet Holmgren (+400)
Holmgren is playing in OKC with a group of young, athletic facilitators who like sharing the ball and running the floor. I believe Holmgren will have a big impact offensively right out of the gate for the Thunder. His rare ability to run the floor at his height is something that will give defenses fits in the league. And he has the mindset to really push himself to make his rookie year a statement.
Jabari Smith Jr. (+400)
Jabari Smith Jr. will be teaming up with a great mix of young players and veterans. He will be able to work closely with the likes of Eric Gordon and Boban Marjanovic, while also being able to grow relationships and build this franchise with Jalen Green and Christain Wood. This will be a fun season watching this group of young men play together.
Paolo Banchero (+350)
The Orlando Magic have a dynamic duo with Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs, their back to back first round picks. This is huge for that franchise two have arguably the two most talented players from two straight draft classes on the floor learning the game together. I believe that Banchero and Suggs will be great on the fastbreak and in pick and roll situations in the half court offense. Another young team that will be exciting to watch for many years to come, with an opportunity to build something special off of these two.
NBA Rookie of the Year Sleeper Pick: Keegan Murray (+1000)
The sleeper bet to keep and eye on is Keegan Murray out of Iowa and going into his first season at Sacramento. He was not the flashiest top-5 pick we have ever seen, but he is clearly NBA ready with his physicality, basketball IQ, and scoring abilities. He will be someone that contributes for the Kings from day 1 and is someone to keep tabs on throughout the season.
