Malik Willis Draft Position (O/U 13.5)
As a whole, this year’s QB class leaves a lot to be desired. According to most experts, Willis and Pittsburgh’s Kenny Pickett are the top prospects, though both possess significant question marks.
Of the teams holding top-ten picks on Thursday, only the Detroit Lions (No. 2), Carolina Panthers (No. 6), Atlanta Falcons (No. 8), and Seattle Seahawks (No. 9) are reportedly interested in drafting a quarterback. But all four are still more likely to address other positions, while there’s a chance Willis isn’t even their top QB choice.
Willis has convincing -114 odds to go Over Pick 13.5 on Thursday, with +140 odds at being a top-ten pick. However, that doesn’t mean the Under can’t hit, as a team like Carolina could love him more than people expect. A surprise team could also trade into the top ten to select him.

Team to Draft Malik Willis
If you’re debating whether a team will draft Willis inside the top ten, consider the following: Currently, a club with the 20th-overall selection is the betting favorite to land the Liberty star.
After Ben Roethlisberger’s retirement, the Pittsburgh Steelers are searching for his heir apparent. The Steelers did sign former second-overall pick Mitchell Trubisky, but that shouldn’t exclude them from finding a QB on Thursday. And right now, no team has better odds (+150) for drafting Willis than Pittsburgh.
The Steelers could either trade up for Willis or hope he falls to them at 20. But they’ll face some stiff competition from other favorites like the Panthers (+400), Lions (+1000), and Seahawks (+800). The Falcons (+600) and New Orleans Saints (+400) are also in the mix.
First Quarterback Selected (-190)
Even though the draft is rapidly approaching, it’s difficult to gauge when the first QB goes off the board. However, the latest odds bode well for Malik becoming the first signal-caller to take the stage in Las Vegas.
At -190, Willis is the considerable favorite to go first amongst his peers. Pickett, who’s nearly a full year older than the Liberty QB, has +170 odds to be the top QB selected. Meanwhile, Cincinnati’s Desmond Ridder (+1000) and Mississippi’s Matt Corral (+1800) are longshots.
The consensus opinion is that Pickett is more NFL-ready now, but Willis boasts the higher ceiling. That should be an interesting dilemma for the Steelers and Saints, two playoff-caliber teams who could be a QB away from contending for a Super Bowl.
