Members of the Cleveland Browns offense huddle up during offseason workouts

During the 2024 MLB All Star Game on FOX, they decided to advertise America's Game of the Week for the 2024/25 NFL season opener, and it just so happens to be Cowboys vs. Browns. Since then, all I can think about is football.

The Browns are set to enter another "do or die" season this year, led by quarterback Deshaun Watson in his third season with the Browns. On paper, the Browns enter the new season with the NFL's hardest schedule. How will they do? Well, let's have some fun.

Week 1: Cowboys @ Browns

Try and name a better way for the Browns to start the season, I'll wait. At home, in the Dawg Pound, Jerry's World in town, Tom Brady makes his broadcasting debut, the list goes on.

Watson has only appeared in one of the two season openers since arriving in Cleveland, dismantling the Cincinnati Bengals 24-3. When comparing the Cowboys and Browns rosters on paper and fully healthy, the Browns have the edge. Given it's Week 1 and everyone is fully healthy, I'll take the Browns in this one by a score of 33-24. This one might've looked different if it was in Week 11.

Week 2: Browns @ Jaguars

Fresh off of a massive 5-year, $275 million dollar contract extension, Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars have high expectations. After losing Calvin Ridley, they attempted to retool the receiver position with Gabe Davis and rookie Brian Thomas Jr.

In what might be a surprise to some, I have the Browns dropping this one by a score of 27-20. This should be a wire-to-wire contest, one that will be tough for the Browns after a gruesome Week 1 victory.

Week 3: Giants @ Browns

This one seems pretty simple to me.

If you plan on getting to where you want to go this season, those plans don't include losing to Danny Dimes on your home turf in Week 3. I'll take the Browns by a score of 28-13.

Week 4: Browns @ Raiders

If I had to guess - I'd say this road game will feature the most Browns fans of any road game this season; and it's probably pretty easy to understand why.

I think this game will be a bit tougher than most think, and I also think it will be closer than most think. That said - I'm going off of pure roster construction in this one, and it's one the Browns have the advantage. Browns 30, Raiders 23.

Week 5: Browns @ Commanders

Outside of the Cleveland Browns, the Washington Commanders are a team I'm going to be keeping a close eye on all season long. Why? Jayden Daniels.

Once again, however, to keep things short and sweet so we can get to all 17 games, you can't lose to a rookie quarterback if you're the Browns in a make or break year. Tough road game, Browns offense carries them. Browns 41, Commanders 27.

Week 6: Browns @ Eagles

Stacked. That's the term for the 2024/25 Philadelphia Eagles.

A really tough road game in Week 6 for the Browns, especially after already being on the road in Vegas and in Washington. The Browns will be tired in this spot, and I think it will get the best of them. Eagles 24, Browns 20.

Week 7: Bengals @ Browns

We all know how Joe Burrow looks whenever he has to face Myles Garrett and the Browns.

I expect the Browns and Bengals to split their two games this season, with the Browns winning this one on their home turf. Browns 31, Bengals 23.

Week 8: Ravens @ Browns

Lamar vs. Deshaun. We saw how fun it was just a year ago in Baltimore. How will their first meeting of the new season go in Cleveland?

A shootout. Again. I expect a high scoring, fast paced game here. I'll go with the Ravens in this one. Why? Well, their second meeting comes at the very end of the regular season, and I have something for you there. Ravens 34, Browns 31.

Week 9: Chargers @ Browns

The other Harbaugh comes to Cleveland.

I'm not huge on Justin Herbert, and I don't love him here in this spot on the road. The Browns will have a bye week in Week 10, which will ultimately help fuel them to a win here at home in Week 9. Browns 24, Chargers 17.

Week 11: Browns @ Saints

You ready to go on a run, Cleveland?

After the mentioned Week 10 bye week, the Browns play four very winnable games, starting with the Saints.

This will be a tough matchup for the Browns. That said, given that the Browns will have fresh legs and the Saints will be fresh off of a tough divisional date with the Falcons, I'll take the Browns here. Browns 29, Saints 22.

Week 12: Steelers @ Browns

Short week for the Browns with this game being a Thursday Night Football game.

Will it be Russell Wilson playing quarterback with Justin Fields returning kicks when they come to Cleveland? Will it be the other way around? Will Russell Wilson be cut by Pittsburgh and making more Subway commercials? Who knows. Browns 30, Steelers 14.

Week 13: Browns @ Broncos

Monday Night Football in Denver. You ready?

We still don't know who will be at quarterback for the Broncos this upcoming season. An educated guess would lead me to believe it'll be Bo Nix, but who knows. Another "got to have it" game for the Browns. Browns 23, Broncos 10.

Week 14: Browns @ Steelers

You can screenshot this, save this, do whatever your heart desires with it. The Cleveland Browns will sweep the Pittsburgh Steelers this upcoming season.

Game two will be a bit closer than the Thursday Night Football game in Cleveland, but the Browns will still get it done here. Browns 26, Steelers 16.

Week 15: Chiefs @ Browns

Depending on how the upcoming NFL season goes, I think this one has "game of the year" potential written all over it.

Despite what most might think here, I believe this will be a low scoring contest, one the Browns will drop but learn from as they close out the rest of the season. Chiefs 17, Browns 16.

Week 16: Browns @ Bengals

For the first time all season, I have the Cleveland Browns losing back to back games.

Finishing off the season with the Steelers, Chiefs, Bengals, Dolphins and Ravens is a gauntlet. Joe Burrow will finally play well against the Browns again in this one at home, and they will do just enough to get it done. Bengals 28, Browns 24.

Week 17: Dolphins @ Browns

Sunday Night Football makes its return to Cleveland. What else happens in this game?

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has to play in the deep part of Lake Erie's brutally cold winter winds. Browns 23, Dolphins 16.

Week 18: Browns @ Ravens

Well, well, well. Back where it all started so beautifully and where it all ended so abruptly.

Flashback to last season. Deshaun Watson looks like Houston Deshaun Watson, Browns mount miraculous comeback on the road to beat the Ravens. The next day? Deshaun Watson is out for the season.

Now, fast forward to January 5th, 2025. The Browns are on the road to take on Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. The AFC North division crown is on the line. Is this finally the year the Browns win the coveted AFC North title?

Browns 33, Ravens 30.

Overall 2024/25 Record: 12-5.
