It only makes sense that there is a full slate of MLB games on July 4, as baseball is America’s pastime. Not only is baseball an institution in the United States, but betting on sports is now one of the most popular activities in the United States.

With that in mind, here are three of the best 4th of July baseball games to bet on, and you’ll be looking to bet on home teams.

Tampa Bay Rays at Boston Red Sox

The New York Yankees are the clear leaders of the AL East Division, but there is a loaded group of contenders right behind them. Tampa Bay and Boston are both in that group, and they are set to meet up on the 4th of July to begin a series.

The Rays don’t yet have a starting pitcher lined up to make that start, and that could be a problem against a great Red Sox offense. Tampa Bay has struggled to score runs, especially of late, and it’s hard to see them keeping up.

Michael Wacha is set to start for Boston, and he is 6-1 with a 2.69 ERA this season. Wacha doesn’t even have to pitch well to win because that Red Sox offense has been on fire of late.

Take the Red Sox to win at home in Boston to celebrate the holiday.

Kansas City Royals at Houston Astros

There are some games that look like absolute mismatches on paper around MLB, and that will be the case with a game taking place in Houston. The Astros are set to host the Kansas City Royals, and these teams are simply not equals this season.

Kansas City does have some talent on the roster, but it’s not enough to win many games. Jonathan Heasley is set to start in this game, and he has gone just 1-4 with a 5.20 ERA to begin the year.

Houston will have Justin Verlander on the mound on Independence Day, and you can almost always bank on a win when he is on the mound. Verlander is 10-3 with a 2.03 ERA this season, and he will also have a loaded lineup to back him up.

The Astros will have no trouble winning on the 4th of July over the Royals.

St. Louis Cardinals at Atlanta Braves

A pair of NL playoff contenders are set to meet up in Atlanta on Monday as the Braves host the St. Louis Cardinals. Both teams look to be pretty even on paper, but the pitching matchup in this game clearly favors the Braves.

Dakota Hudson (6-4, 3.83 ERA) will start for St. Louis, while Kyle Wright (9-4, 3.03 ERA) is set to take the mound for Atlanta. Both lineups are loaded with terrific hitters as well, and this should be an absolute battle on the field.

St. Louis has been solid all season long, but the Atlanta Braves have been playing well since the beginning of June. Home field advantage is going to matter on Monday, and it will be the Braves that come away with a win over the Cardinals.
