Cavs vs. Bulls Betting Preview & Pick January 19, 2022
The Cleveland Cavaliers head out to Chicago to take on the Bulls. Currently, on a five-game winning streak, the Cavaliers look to extend the streak to six.
With Darius Garland going above and beyond, the Cavaliers are really coming together as a team. It’ll be a tough test as they take on DeMar DeRozan and the Bulls. Are the Cleveland Cavaliers up to the challenge this time?
The Chicago Bulls haven’t been as fortunate as the Cleveland Cavaliers. Although they’re still at the top of the Eastern Conference, they’ve lost four games in a row. Holding onto the top spot in the East might not be feasible if they lose this game.
The top five teams are slowly creeping up on them; Chicago could go from 1st to 5th easily. Let’s take a look at what each team brings.

Cleveland is now No.4 in the East
With the Cavaliers winning five straight games, they’ve earned the No.4 spot in the Eastern Conference. A win over the Bulls could see them jump even higher, while the Bulls will plummet.
The Cavaliers’ most recent win was a 114-107 win over the Brooklyn Nets. Sure, Kevin Durant wasn’t in the lineup, but it’s still an impressive win. These wins are mostly due to teamwork.
The Cavaliers might not have the shooters like the Golden State Warriors do, but they have cohesion. Their offense is ranked 20th in scoring, 107.6 points per game, but they shoot 46.63% from the field.
The Bulls will again be without key players, meaning the Cavaliers have a chance to win this game. Honestly, the focus shouldn’t be on scoring but stopping DeMar DeRozan.
Perhaps their last chance to hold on to first-place
The Chicago Bulls are dangerously close to falling out of the rankings after this game. If they lose, that’ll drop them to five straight losses and likely five spots in the conference.
Unfortunately, that’s looking like a real possibility since they’re missing Zach Lavine again. He also isn’t the only player missing from the Chicago Bulls lineup. Let’s go over the full injury list.
As we mentioned, Zach Lavine is the main concern. However, the Bulls will also be without Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, Tyler Cook, and Javonte Green. With all of these players out, it’s hard to imagine the Bulls winning this game.
They only come in as 1.5-point underdogs, but we honestly think it should be larger. The best chance the Bulls have is in DeMar DeRozan.
Betting lines for the Cleveland Cavaliers at Chicago Bulls
As we said above, the Bulls are the underdogs in this game, but not by much. It’s also important to note that in their last ten games, the Bulls have gone 3-7 ATS.
The Cavaliers and Bulls are even at 5-5 over their last ten meetings. However, the Cavaliers have the edge at the sportsbook, going 6-4 ATS against Chicago.
This game could go down to the wire, which explains the small spread. However, over their last four games, the Cavaliers are 3-0-1 ATS, making them pretty trustworthy. With all of the injuries to the Bulls lineup, we don’t see them winning this one.
