The Cincinnati Reds will take on the St. Louis Cardinals for a three-game series starting Friday night in St. Louis at Busch Stadium. The first game will be played at 8:15 pm EST, followed by two afternoon games on Saturday and Sunday at 2:15 p.m.

After the Reds won the first two games of the past series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, they fell in two consecutive games to split the series. The Cardinals had even worse luck against the Tampa Bay Rays, where they were swept in a three-game series.

The Red have now won four out of their last ten and find themselves 12 games out of first place in the NL Central. The Cardinals are 5-5 in their last ten and are only half a game out of first place and 11.5 games up from the Reds.

Let’s take a look at this NL Central showdown on Friday night when the Cincinnati Reds take on the St. Louis Cardinals.

Reds vs. Cardinals June 10 Betting Odds

The Cardinals open up as 1.5 run favorites against the Reds at +155 odds. The Reds, at +1.5, have odds of -185 to cover.

The over/under for the game is set at eight with odds of -110 to bet the over or under. For moneyline, the Cardinals have -135 odds to win, and the Reds have odds of +115 to win.

The Cardinals are 2-3 in their last five games against the spread. Their total in their last five games have been under three times.

The Reds have also gone 2-3 against the spread in their past five games and have gone under three times in that same span. The Reds are 13-15 this year against the spread on the road.

Expected Pitching Matchup

Luis Castillo is expected to start for the Reds, posting a 3.55 ERA and 34 strikeouts with a record of 2-3 in the six games that he has pitched this season. He took the loss in his last out after giving up three earned runs on six hits while walking six batters in 6.1 innings.

Andre Pallante will oppose Castillo for the Cardinals on Friday night. This will only be his second start of the season, as he has come out of the bullpen in seventeen games this year.

He has been pitching lights out in the bullpen and is now being tried out as a starter with his 1.23 ERA and 1-0 record. He got a no decision in his first start but only gave up one run on four hits in four innings.

Expected Outcome

It is hard to get a read on the Reds lately because every time you want to believe that they are over the hump, they end up losing a few games to bring them back down.

I like St Louis on Friday and in this whole series because not only are they the better team and will be pushing for the number one spot in the division but these games are being played in front of their home crowd. The Reds will have to muster up a lot of production if they want to have a chance in this matchup.
