Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Atlanta Hawks March 31, 2022 NBA Betting Preview
The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off a loss to the Dallas Mavericks, as it’s becoming increasingly likely that they’ll have to settle for the play-in tournament.
The Atlanta Hawks, on the other hand, have won three straight games, as they’re three games back of the Cavs for the top spot in the play-in tournament.
We should be in for an exciting NBA game!
Betting Odds & Lines
The point spread of this game at Hawks -6. Looking at the over/under, that stands at 227.
Cavs Players to Watch Out For
Darius Garland is coming off yet another impressive performance, as he put up 25 points, 10 assists, five rebounds, and four steals in the game last night.
Caris LeVert finally broke through and showed Cavs fans the player he is capable of being, as he went off for 32 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Lamar Stevens came off the bench to score 16 points. Lauri Markkanen chipped in with 13 points.
Kevin Love put in a solid all-around effort of eight points, five rebounds, and three assists.
These games down the stretch of the season are becoming increasingly important for the Cavs, as they hope to at least keep the top spot in the play-in tournament at this point.
Just a couple of months ago, the Cavs were the feel-good story around the league, with their young talent emerging faster than anyone could’ve imagined. However, an NBA season is 82 games long, and fatigue, injuries, and the mental grind can catch up to a young squad like Cleveland.
The Cavs do boast one of the best young cores in the league, though, so that will definitely attract free agents. It could potentially entice LeBron James to come home yet again.
Cleveland is 39-33-4 against the spread this season and 33-41-2 on over/unders. They are 18-19 as the away team.
Hawks Players to Watch Out For
Trae Young is always a problem with the basketball in his hands and last night was no exception, as he exploded for 41 points on 13-of-24 shooting to go along with eight assists.
Ice Trae is just too good at pulling up from anywhere on the court and drilling 3-pointers, as well as taking defenders off the dribble for easy buckets at the rim. He always leaves defenders on edge, as they just don’t know what he will do next.
Bogdan Bogdanovic and Kevin Huerter are each coming off 20 point performances last night as well.
This season, Atlanta is 33-43-0 against the spread and 41-35-0 on over/unders. They are 24-14 as the home team.
Hawks Win
The Hawks have finally found the same groove that got them to the Eastern Conference Finals just last season, whereas the Cavs just can’t buy a win.
Expect Ice Trae to come out with fire in this one with a sole motivation to move up in the play-in standings while the Hawks win the game and cover the spread.
