Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics Betting Preview

The Cavaliers and Celtics got together on Saturday, and the defense of both teams was on full display.

Cleveland scored only nine points in the first quarter but were able to come away with the victory regardless. They went on an incredible fourth-quarter run to claim the dub. This improved their record up until now to 9-5.

As for Boston, that was a game they will not be happy with looking back. They had it pretty much won, but they took their foot off the gas and let the impressive Cleveland D dictate a final couple of months of the game. And as the early trends have shown, they will win pretty much every low-scoring game that they are a part of.

Jaylen Brown is not expected to be back for the Celtics before tipoff here, so Cleveland will not have to deal with both of the Jays. As that is what the case will be, they will not be able to find any advantages that differ from the last game. Their defense is going to have to figure out how to slow Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen down.

And for the Cavs, they should continue to use their size and length to make things happen for them. Their two big men have been playing out of this world.

Betting Odds & Lines

The spread for the game is surprisingly set at BOS -2.5. The over/under is sitting at 199.5. The BOS line is -114, while CLE is -105.

Boston Aiming for Redemption

For the second time in as many games, the Cavs and Celtics will meet in Cleveland. Boston was able to hang tight and bond as a team while they had the day off in between games. And now, they need to come back and find their groove. They have gone just 6-7 to open the year, dealing with questions from media members and fans they don’t like.

Marcus Smart has not been able to score the ball much, while Jaylen Brown has now missed most of the games. Two games back, they surprisingly got 38 points from Dennis Schroder. But, they cannot rely on him to help them win games.

They will need Robert Williams III to be the guy in the middle.

Cleveland Looks for 10th Win

At 9-5, the Cavs have been able to surprise a lot of folks this year. And even though Collin Sexton has now been out for over a week, they have been able to remain competitive. Their wing players all stepped up last game, Cedi Osman and Denzel Valentine playing big minutes to close it out.

They will not lose these types of battles if the role players can show up and do what they need. Darius Garland has been exceptional, while Ricky Rubio has also played very well as a point guard for them.

They do not have any glaring flaws, even with the injuries. They are aiming for their tenth victory already. Only the Nets have that many in the East.

Cavs Win. Boston will fall short again as the underdog Cavs get it done.

Betting Picks: CLE +2.5, Over 199.5
