Evan Mobley in a Groove
Evan Mobley is averaging 20.8 points on 63.3 percent shooting to go along with 7.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game over his last four games.
He had 24 points, nine rebounds, and four assists his last time out, as he looked tremendous in getting his buckets on drives to the rim, hitting turnaround fadeaway jumpers, or cutting towards the rim and getting the pass for an easy finish.
Mobley looks like the real deal and has really stepped into an important role for the Cavs this season.
Many believe he can be the Rookie of the Year when it’s all said and done at the conclusion of this season.
Kevin Love Continues to Stay Hot
Kevin Love has been nothing short of inspiring this season, as he was once viewed as an outcast on this team.
At 33 years old, he doesn’t appear ready to slow down, as he put up 20 points on 6-of-13 shooting to go with eight rebounds and four assists.
In his last nine games, Love is averaging nearly 22 points per game while shooting nearly 50 percent from three on close to nine attempts per night.
The amazing part of all of this is that he’s doing this all while coming off the bench. It can be hard for a player of his caliber to accept a bench role, but he’s done it in stride, which is why he should garner serious Sixth Man of the Year consideration.
Ja Morant Putting Up Video Game Numbers
Ja Morant is averaging 35.0 points on 57.6 percent shooting, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game over his last four games, as he has led the Grizzlies to wins over the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs, and Brooklyn Nets during that stretch.
Because of that, the Grizzlies have been unstoppable, as the Nets had trouble keeping up with them in last night’s game.
Morant should have a great shot at making his first career All-Star Game next month.
Grizzlies Win
Both teams have been great all season long, especially the Cavs, who have been nothing short of a pleasant surprise this season.
This should definitely be a close game either way, with both teams having their eyes on the playoffs, but at this particular point in time, the Grizzlies are just the hotter team.
Darius Garland is also listed as questionable for this game at the time of this writing, but even if he is good to go, he may need to use this game to get his legs back underneath him.
The Grizzlies seem more likely to win this one than the Cavs.
