Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pick Ups
We are in mid-stride in the fantasy football season. By now, you can tell whether or not your team is built for December (fantasy football postseason). I can’t be the only one whose team is rattled with inconsistency? Right? This season more than ever, I’ve relied on streaming players and this has led to an extreme increase in my win total. This week is a very hard week for fantasy owners. Week Seven is causing a number of problems due to high-powered offenses being on bye such as the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and the Los Angeles Chargers to name a few. So who should you pick up to fill up those spots?
Players selected were only available in over 50% of ESPN leagues
QB: Sam Darnold, CAR (@NYG) Available in 56.5% of ESPN Leagues
Everyone hit the panic button when Sam Darnold struggled the past two weeks. His ownership plummeted as a result which is unreal. He is currently ranked 11 and has such outstanding weapons that it just doesn’t make sense that he's available in a majority of leagues. DJ Moore and Robbie Anderson have allowed Sam Darnold to play exceptionally!
Now the reason to pick up Sammy Dimes is the fact he’s playing the Giants. The Giants are currently allowing 21.8 PPG to opposing quarterbacks which is currently the 27th most for opposing passers. He’s boomed in two out of six weeks this season and he will definitely boom this week!
RB: Latavius Murray, BAL (vs CIN) Available in 54.5% of ESPN Leagues
There are not many running backs that have the criteria that can provide as much upside as Latavius Murray. Many people were complaining about Lamar Jackson losing upside due to his production. This offense loves their pistol offense which allows for high rushing upside from the running back.
Playing the Bengals makes this an easy matchup to pick off. Many running backs have had field days against this defense and Latavius Murray is next. The reason I didn’t pick the Browns running backs is because of a lack of confidence in those players and they are playing Denver which should worry you.
WR: AJ Green, ARI (vs HOU) Available in 63.4% of ESPN Leagues
Most of you Bengals fans should have probably drafted this guy because you know his potential. He is a jump ball freak and is a huge target for MVP front-runner Kyler Murray. While it may not be 2014, he is still able to get the job done as a reliable target!
His matchup for this week as the listed WR3 on the AZ depth chart and the CB3 on the Texans depth chart is listed as Terrence Mitchell. Does this matchup even seem fair? That ball will go to him and he’ll get great red zone volume this week against the Texans!
TE: Ricky Seals-Jones (@GB) Available in 63.6% of ESPN Leagues
The tight end was by far the hardest position to find. This guy has the best value of all available players at his position. Trust this NFL veteran as the WFT struggles to get targets to Terry McLaurin, Ricky Seals-Jones is the next best thing.
Green Bay has allowed a fair bit of points to oppose tight ends. Considering Green Bay trying to hone in on Gibson and McLaurin, this leaves Seals-Jones as a good option who’s had nine targets over two games. Coming off his best game of the year against KC, one would be wise to give him a chance.
