Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pick Ups for NFL Week 12

Week 12 of the NFL season has some solid options as you could potentially be on the fringe of the fantasy football playoffs. Today, we have three players and a defense that most likely will be on your waiver wire, so let's dive into this week's potential pick-ups.

Samaje Perine (RB, Cincinnati Bengals)

Hear me out before you think he is not getting enough playing time. Perine has been doing well and could be a weapon in the Bengals' passing and running game. He can be an excellent option if you need a last-minute running back or flex option heading into this week. Perine has seen multiple targets in each of his previous three games and going up against the Steelers this week, and he has a chance to find the end zone to compliment a solid RB1. Look for Samaje Perine as a nice bench option that can slide into a start if you need it for insurance purposes.

Austin Hooper (TE, Cleveland Browns)

For some reason, people do not understand how there aren't many great tight-end options in fantasy football overall, so go with someone with a handful of targets and build points there. That's exactly what Cleveland has in Austin Hooper, as all the thoughts are with David Njoku for a defense. This week, Hooper is a sneaky play as he finished against Detroit with four catches on seven targets for 53 yards. He was only behind Jarvis Landry in targets so that Baker Mayfield would throw the football his way. They go up against the Baltimore Ravens this week, and this could be a good matchup for him as a solid pass-catcher.

Mac Jones (QB, New England Patriots)

Mac Jones is one of the most basic quarterbacks with a nice floor but a low ceiling. He had an excellent performance against the Atlanta Falcons last week as he was 22-26 for 207 yards with a touchdown and an interception. In his previous three games, Jones has five touchdowns to two interceptions, and having a few extra days to prepare will only help out the rookie quarterback get right for this game after playing Thursday Night Football last week. New England will be going up against the Tennessee Titans this week, and they are giving up 270.7 passing yards per game, so this should be a plus matchup for Mac Jones to do well.

Atlanta Falcons D/ST

This isn't a pretty one, but it should be a nice guaranteed floor as they are going up against the Jacksonville Jaguars this week. The Jaguars are averaging under 16 points per game this season, so they shouldn't be able to put up a big number on the scoreboard. Cornerback AJ Terrell has been playing exceptionally well and should be able to really dominate and potentially force a turnover. Atlanta should be on the waivers as they aren't a top defense this season and if you need the spot start, go with them for this week to play well.
