Kansas City Chiefs at Cincinnati Bengals Bet Preview
The Cincinnati Bengals will play host to the Kansas City Chiefs as this game features two of the heavy hitters from the AFC. Kansas City will travel to Paul Brown Stadium on Sunday to take on the Bengals at 1 p.m. on CBS.
The Bengals (9-6) are on a comfortable two-game winning streak and have sole possession of the AFC North. They were able to take care of the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens in consecutive weeks to reclaim their stop at the top of the division with only two games left in the regular season.
The Chiefs (11-4) have clinched the AFC West and are on an incredible eight-game win streak after starting the season 3-4. On this run, they have beaten the Giants, Packers, Raiders twice, Cowboys, Broncos, Chargers, and Steelers.
Odds
The odds are in favor of the Chiefs at a spread of -4.5 at -110. The Bengals have the same odds of -110 to cover the spread at +4.5. The over/under for the game is 51 with odds of -110 to bet the over or under. The moneyline for the Chiefs and Bengals is -200 and +170, respectively.
Kansas City and their opponents have hit over 51 points eight times compared to the Bengals that have hit that mark seven times in that same span. Both teams have eight wins against the spread.
Keys to Victory
For the Bengals, this matchup bodes well for their offense. Joe Burrow and the Bengals offense love to test the defense through the air, which has been lacking for the Chiefs this season. They rank 17th in opponent completion percentage, 25th in opponent pass yards per game, and 30th in sack percentage.
If Burrow is able to have time in the pocket and all his receivers to run their routes effectively, they will be dangerous through the air. The Bengals rank first in the NFL in 3rd down conversion rate, which will be needed heavily to keep their drives alive and keep them moving downfield.
For the Chiefs, the defensive line will be a major key for the success of the Chiefs in this game. If the line can clog up the holes and force the Bengals into a one-dimensional offense, they will have a much better time trying to stop Burrow. If Joe Mixon can find success on the ground, it will be a long day for this Chiefs defense.
Along with stopping the run, they will need to pressure Burrow to make mistakes. If Burrow has time and can make comfortable throws, he will beat them through the air. The Chiefs' defense, especially their line, needs to make Burrow uncomfortable in the pocket. The Chiefs offense will take care of business, so it is all on the defense in this one.
Expected Outcome
It is hard to pick against a Kansas City Chiefs team who has been playing the football that they've been playing for the past eight weeks, but this Bengals team is the real deal. I think they will fight hard enough to win a close one and clinch the AFC North on Sunday in Cincinnati.
