Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers throws a pass against Los Angeles Rams

Monday Night Football will close out Week 15 in Lambeau Field, as the Green Bay Packers will host the Los Angeles Rams. Both of these teams are below the six-win mark on the season coming into this contest, and their playoff hopes are faint at best. But, a win in this game could at least keep them with a pulse in the playoff race in the NFC going into the final three games of the season.

Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are coming off of one of the wilder wins of the 2022 NFL season after they beat the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football. Los Angeles was down two scores in the final minutes of that game, but Baker Mayfield led multiple touchdown drives to steal the game in his first game as a Ram.

Here, Mayfield and the Rams hit the road and will attempt to pick up a second straight victory.

The question for the Rams coming into this contest is finding skill position players to help Mayfield ease his transition into his new team. With so many key players out for this game, it will be interesting to see which version of Mayfield we see.

If he plays like he did in the fourth quarter against the Raiders, the Rams could win this game, but if he plays like he did in the first three it could be a long night for the Rams in the midwest.

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers are 5-8 coming into this week. While their chances of winning the NFC North are gone for the year, they are still alive in the race for the Wild Card in their conference.

However, the Packers will need to win out to get to 9-8, where they would still need some help in order to get to the postseason, making this Monday night matchup at home vital for them and several other Wild Card contenders.

Green Bay’s biggest question coming into this game is whether or not they can sustain some offense. The Packers rank 22nd in scoring this season entering this contest, putting up just over 20 points per game.

While they should still have the advantage over a Rams team that has been even worse offensively, a low-scoring game could force the Packers to play a closer game than they would like.

Keys To The Game

For the Rams, running the football is going to be the key to this game, and it is one they have struggled with all year. If they can get something going on the ground, they can make things so much easier on Baker Mayfield, who is still in the process of learning a new offense. The Rams and Mayfield will enter this game as +7 point underdogs.

If they fail to establish the run, and leave their new quarterback to his own devices, the Rams could drop to 4-10 on the year.

On the Packers side, the key to this game is wide receiver Christian Watson. Watson has been a Swiss army knife for the Green Bay offense, scoring seven touchdowns in his last three games. If he can add to that total, it could be the difference maker in a battle of two subpar offenses.
