Miami Heat at Cleveland Cavaliers December 13 Bet Preview

The Heat will head to Cleveland to play the Cavs Monday, their second meeting of December. The last one did not go too well for Miami, but they did quickly learn that Dewayne Dedmon was a capable center for them in the absence of Bam Adebayo. It will be the little things for them as injuries pile upon them, and they are forced to go deeper into the bench.

The Heat have had some good moments this year but have certainly not impressed all in all. The roster looks good, and the offseason additions have all been paying pretty big dividends.

Where they would be without Kyle Lowry and P.J. Tucker would be a great question to try and answer. But at 16-11, they are fighting to stay ahead of 16-12 CLE in this one.

The Cavs have won three in a row to follow a three-game losing skid, just how their season has typically unfolded. Lose a few games and then come right back with a winning streak.

The team has been impressive throughout this season, their frontcourt behind a lot of their success. Lauri Markkanen, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen have thrived when sharing the court together.

And at the point guard position, Darius Garland has been totally locked in, making a serious and surprising All-Star case in his third NBA season.

Betting Odds & Lines

The Cavs, for the second game in a row, are favored -4.5. The over/under is set at 206.5 pts in a likely defensive battle. The CLE moneyline is -194, while MIA is +152.

Heat Seeking Key Road Win

With how close things are in the East right now, every win you can get against a conference foe can serve to create a little separation. The team has been good but has also struggled to win when Jimmy Butler has been out of the lineup, a common occurrence as of late.

The emergence of Tyler Herro as a star has been huge for them, as he disappointed in the playoffs a season ago. The shooting of Duncan Robinson finally returned when he hit six threes in the team’s last game. Sure, they have some holes right now. But they keep fighting.

The Heat will make the play-in, at the very least.

Cavs Seeking Home Win

With Houston up next on Wednesday, a win here for Cleveland could lead them to a five-game winning streak. They have lost five in a row already on the year, so now they could just win that many in a row to try and pull even with things.

Looking at how things have been for the Cavs, the defense has been the name of the game. They have incredible rim protection, and it propels them in the transition while knocking shots away and draining the confidence of the opposition.

And the PG play from Garland and Ricky Rubio has been as great as they could ever have hoped for.

Cavs Win

Cleveland will get it done at home, staying hot and earning win number 17.
