A lot of MLB action today. Here's your daily MLB betting guide from betJACK!

Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees (1:05 p.m. ET)

Team Favored and Spread: New York -1.5

Total Runs: 8

After having their opener canceled on Thursday, the Red Sox and Yankees will renew their rivalry on Friday. While both of these teams have the ability to put runs up in bunches, the Red Sox will have a tough time doing that against perennial Cy Young candidate Gerrit Cole. Take the Yankees to cover the runline and expect the total to stay under eight.

Chicago White Sox at Detroit Tigers (1:10 p.m. ET)

Team Favored and Spread: Chicago -1.5

Total Runs: 8

With the additions of Eduardo Rodriguez, Javier Baez, and Austin Meadows, the Detroit Tigers, as well as their futures, should be vastly improved this year. Still, the White Sox are the team to beat and have one of the best young pitchers in the game on the mound in Lucas Giolito. Expect to cover the runline and with the weather cold, expect the total to stay under.

Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago Cubs (2:20 p.m. ET)

Team Favored and Spread: Milwaukee -1.5

Total Runs: 8

While the Cubs were able to win their home opener on Thursday, the Brewers return with the other side of their two-headed pitching monster on Friday with Brandon Woodruff on the mound. Last season, he went just 9-10, but he had a 2.56 ERA and had 211 strikeouts in 179.1 innings.

Expect the Brewers to cover the runline and the total to stay under eight.

Oakland Athletics at Philadelphia Phillies (3:05 p.m. ET)

Team Favored and Spread: Philadelphia -1.5

Total Runs: 8

The Oakland A's dismantled their team this offseason, getting rid of Matt Olson, Matt Chapman, Sean Manaea, and others. About the only star, they have left is Frankie Montas, who will also probably be on the move before the season is over.

On the flip side, the Phillies will counter with Aaron Nola. Their best player is reigning MVP Bryce Harper, who is already hot-hitting eight home runs in spring training. Take the Phillies to win and expect the total to go over.

Baltimore Orioles at Tampa Bay Rays (3:10 p.m. ET)

Team Favored and Spread: Tampa Bay -1.5

Total Runs: 7.5

This is a bit of a David versus Goliath matchup as the Rays take on the less-than-stellar Orioles. While Baltimore's future might be bright with a loaded farm system, their time to shine is not in 2022. Expect Tampa Bay to not only win this one but expect them to win with ease.

Take the Rays to cover the runline and expect the total to go over.

Seattle Mariners at Minnesota Twins (4:10 p.m. ET)

Team Favored and Spread: Seattle -1.5

Total Runs: 8

Both of these teams were extremely active this offseason and are certainly up and comers in the American League. The Mariners will send out reigning Cy Young winner Robbie Ray Friday night, who they plucked from the Blue Jays this offseason.

The Twins also did some work this offseason, adding Carlos Correa, Gary Sanchez, and others. Don't be surprised if the Twins keep this one close. Take Minnesota +1.5 and the total to go over.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Colorado Rockies (4:10 p.m. ET)

Team Favored and Spread: Los Angeles -1.5

Total Runs: 11.5

While the Rockies added Kris Bryant to the mix, they have to go up against one of the most loaded rosters in all of baseball. With Walker Buehler on the mound, expect the Dodgers to both cover the runline while the total should stay under.

Miami Marlins at San Francisco Giants (4:35 p.m. ET)

Team Favored and Spread: San Francisco -1.5

Total Runs: 7.5

Two of the best young starters will square off on Friday as Sandy Alcantara of the Marlins takes on Logan Webb of the Giants. With pitching and defense on full display, expect the score to stay under the 7.5 runs. For that reason, take Miami at +1.5.

New York Mets at Washington Nationals (7:05 p.m. ET)

Team Favored and Spread: New York Mets -1.5

Total Runs: 8.5

While Jacob deGrom starts the season on the injured list, the Mets will turn to another ace in Max Scherzer to take on the Nationals Friday. After winning the opener 5-1, expect the Mets to again win this one, covering the runline. With Scherzer on the mound, the under on total runs is a safe bet.

Texas Rangers at Toronto Blue Jays (7:07 p.m. ET)

Team Favored and Spread: Toronto -1.5

Total Runs: 9

The Rangers spent more money in free agency this offseason, adding players like Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, Jon Gray, and others. Still, there are significant holes in the Rangers roster, while the Blue Jays are one of the best teams in the American League. Behind Jose Berrios, expect the Blue Jays to cover the runline, but don't be surprised if the over hits on the total runs.

Cincinnati Reds at Atlanta Braves (7:20 p.m. ET)

Team Favored and Spread: Atlanta -1.5

Total Runs: 8.5

The defending champions dropped their opener to the Reds Thursday, but they get one of the best veterans on the mound in Charlie Morton on Friday. This is his first start since breaking his leg in the World Series. Expect the Braves to pick up the win, but don't be surprised if the total runs goes over 8.5.

Houston Astros at Los Angeles Angels (9:38 p.m. ET)

Team Favored and Spread: Houston -1.5

Total Runs: 9.5

In his first season with the Astros, Jake Odorizzi struggled, especially as the lineup turned over for the third time each game. Take the Angels at +1.5 and after a pitching gem in the opener, take the over as it wouldn't be surprising to see both teams put up runs Friday.

San Diego Padres at Arizona Diamondbacks (9:40 p.m. ET)

Team Favored and Spread: San Diego -1.5

Total Runs: 9.5

Newly acquired Sean Manaea will get his first start for the Padres on Friday. With a Diamondbacks team that will struggle in a loaded NL West, expect the Padres to cover the runline Friday while the total should stay under the 9.5 runs.
