NBA Betting Guide: NBA Best Bets for January 14, 2022

NBA has a slate of nine games to kick off a long weekend filled with NBA basketball.

Here's betJACK's daily NBA betting guide for January 14, 2022.

Boston Celtics @ Philadelphia 76ers (7 p.m., ESPN)

Favored Team and Spread: PHI -3.5

Total Points: 210

Kicking this one off with an ESPN NBA Friday Eastern Conference showdown! I like this matchup and spread straight off the rip. These teams are evenly matched in my eyes and in Vegas' eyes as well. I fully expect this to be Boston's game in the end though due to the firepower that Boston will have. Marcus Smart is the only person missing but I don't see that hindering Boston. So give me Boston and the points.

Orlando Magic @ Charlotte Hornets (7 p.m.)

Favored Team and Spread: CHA -11

Total Points: 223.5

If there's one game I'm sure to get right 100% of the time. It's taking whomever the Orlando Magic faces. Today, the Magic journey to Charlotte to play Charlotte and ultimately get trounced by the Charlotte Hornets. Give me as much in Charlotte's favor as possible. The Magic are the NBA's most deplorable team. So prop betting is a fun way to spice this game up.

Toronto Raptors @ Detroit Pistons (7 p.m.)

Favored Team and Spread: TOR -10

Total Points: 211.5

This is another game that is a game where you win if you choose to have some fun with prop betting. This is a game where that's really the only way you win if sports betting was legal in Ohio right now, the date is set for January 1, 2023. As with the previous matchup, give me Toronto, the points and the over.

Phoenix Suns vs Indiana Pacers (7 p.m.)

Favored Team and Spread: Suns -5.5

Total Points: 220

This is a game where Chris Paul potentially can make a return for Phoenix which I think can sway the game more in Phoenix's favor so that's what I'm looking for tonight, I'll take Phoenix moneyline and here's why: The Pacers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games (ATS meaning Against The Spread). I think the point total will hit due Phoenix's offensive production in their recent games prior to Toronto.

Golden State Warriors @ Chicago Bulls (7:30 p.m.)

Favored Team and Spread: CHI -3.5

Ttoal Points: 223.5

This game will be a treat! I wish this was the ESPN game for the 7 p.m. timeslot. I love the look of this matchup and the scope this come with at the halfway post of the season. The fact that I can take the spread and total points without a push (which only happens when the totals are whole numbers and that number hits. i.e. a point total of 49 and the final score is 26-23). Makes me love this game. Give me Chicago here though.

Atlanta Hawks @ Miami Heat (8 p.m.)

Favored Team and Spread: MIA -4.5

Total Points: 221

This is a game I look at and want to take Miami at first glance but the amount of firepower they have on the injured list makes me hesitate. The Heat potentially could have Jimmy Butler back but he is questionable of this writing. So this game could very be way closer than first glance makes it out to be. This is a game I pick spread only and it will ATL +4.5 for my choice. What that means is that Atlanta will cover the spread. They don't have to win, they just have to lose by no more than four points.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs San Antonio Spurs (8:30 p.m.)

Favored Team and Spread: CLE -3.5

This is a very formidible Cavaliers team, they've started to become the darling of the league it seems and that could make this a fun game to watch. We have our full Cavaliers at Spurs betting preview right here for you to go check out!

Houston Rockets @ Sacramento Kings (10 p.m.)

Favored Team and Spread: SAC -5

Total Points: 238.5

This is a game where I don't think twice and go with the Kings at home. The Rockets are just flat out awful on the road, their record stands at a miserable 5-18. and Houston has just been flat out awful all around this year. It doesn't help that a lot of their star power has missed significant time in Eric Gordon (who returned in their previous game) and John Wall who has yet to play this year. Take the under on points here as well, 238.5 is a lot of points for these two teams.

Dallas Mavericks @ Memphis Grizzlies (10 p.m., ESPN)

Favored Team and Spread: MEM -2

Total Points: 214.5

This game is, as the kids would say, a certified banger! I love everything about this game. The spread is tight, total points are relatively low, and this has all the makings for an isntant classic I think. I love the Grizzlies and what that team is doing right now with Ja Morant. The Grizz are winners of 11 in a row and show very few signs of slowing down. I'm taking the Grizzlies to win, cover and the point total to go over.
