The Cleveland Cavaliers are on the road to face the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center. These two teams are meeting for the third and final time. Cleveland is on a 1-9 run, and while the playoffs are out of the picture, this team will be playing for a chance of a season sweep. The Brooklyn Nets are a postseason lock and have a chance to earn the two seed.

Cleveland Cavaliers Preview: Playing for pride

The Cavaliers are headed to the lottery and have very little to gain with a win or loss in this matchup. On the season, this team held one of the league’s worst offensive ratings at (105.7). Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen have been impactful players for the team on both the offensive and defensive end. Garland had a nice sophomore season averaging 17.4 points, 6.2 assists with a 45% field goal percentage.

Colin Sexton has shown the Cavs that he is the future of the franchise due to his season performances. The young combo guard has become a steady leader and consistent producer for this team. Despite some injuries throughout the season, Sexton is still the leading scorer on the team at 24.5 points and 4.4 assists.

The last time these teams met, Sexton provided 25 points and 9 assists in a 125-113 win.

Brooklyn Nets Preview: Building chemistry ahead of playoffs

In the final game, the Brooklyn Nets will use this game to give its trio of stars some court time together to build chemistry with the playoffs right around the corner. Injuries have plagued this team all season, but they are getting healthy at the right time, and having these players back is big for their hopes at a championship run.

Stopping the likes of Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Kevin Durant all at 100% will be a tall task for even some of the best teams in the league. This team comes into this game fresh off a win over the Chicago Bulls 105-91.

James Harden is one of the best players in the league and in the world and has continued to put on dazzling performances this season. He has missed a significant amount of time battling injuries, but when he’s on the court, his impact is felt. During his first season with the Nets, Harden has put 25.1 points and has added 11 assists on 47% shooting.

Cavaliers vs Nets Preview

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been one of the teams that have shown they can handle the Brooklyn Nets due to their depth on the inside. The Nets have yet to play a stretch of games where the superstar trio is on the court together, so that explains the Cavs wins during the season.

The Nets are playing for a chance at locking in the two seed before the playoffs. While this team is looking to build chemistry in the final regular-season game, the star trio will be on a minutes restriction around that 25-minute mark.

This will be a grind-out win for the Nets, but they are the clear favorites heading into this contest because of the player quality and their depth.
