NBA Daily Betting Guide: NBA Best Bets for January 31, 2022
A lot of exciting NBA action tonight! Let's hop into betJACK's Daily NBA Betting Guide!
New Orleans Pelicans @ Cleveland Cavaliers (7 p.m.)
Favored Team and Spread: CLE -7.5
Total Points: 211.5
The Pelicans have been brutal on the road as they are just 7-18 this season compared to the Cavaliers being 15-9 at home so far. New Orleans is dealing with shooting guard Josh Hart (knee), small forward Brandon Ingram (ankle), and center Jonas Valanciunas (illness), all listed as questionable, and if they want to compete, they will need all three in the lineup.
Cleveland is second in the NBA with 102.5 points allowed per game, so it will be difficult to score against them, and this can have the score of a late 80s basketball game.
Go with the Cavs to cover a decent-sized spread and the under to hit as both teams have had the under hit in at least 28 games this season already.
Los Angeles Clippers @ Indiana Pacers (7 p.m.)
Favored Team and Spread: IND -2.5
Total Points: 221
The Clippers are attempting to keep their head above water without Kawhi Leonard (knee), and Paul George (elbow) and are doing that against the weaker teams in the NBA.
Defense is going to be the difference in this game, and Los Angeles is allowing 106.5 points per game so far while Indiana is giving up 110.7 points this season. The Clippers have covered in each of the previous five games against the Pacers so go with them to cover the spread getting a couple of points.
The under seems like the better play in this game as it hit in all but one of their last seven games against one another in Indiana so go with the under here as well.
Memphis Grizzlies @ Philadelphia 76ers (7 p.m.)
Favored Team and Spread: PHI -3.5.
Total Points: 219
These teams have two of the best scorers of the basketball in Ja Morant and Joel Embiid. Memphis is going to have a difficult time stopping Embiid specifically as he is averaging 36.4 points, 12 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 0.2 steals in his last five games.
The Grizzlies are just 1-4 Against The Spread in their last five games played in Philadelphia so go with the Sixers to win by multiple possessions.
The over also hit in five of the last seven games between these teams played in the Wells Fargo Center, so the over is the better play here too.
Miami Heat @ Boston Celtics (7:30 p.m.)
Favored Team and Spread: BOS -3.5
Total Points: 208.5
I do not understand this spread at all, but this should be the best game on the entire day's slate. Small forward Jayson Tatum has stepped up in the last five games as he is averaging 34.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 0.6 blocks, and 0.8 steals.
However, outside of him, it feels like no one else is stepping up. Miami will be without point guard Kyle Lowry (personal) but still have point guard Tyler Herro, small forward Jimmy Butler, and center BamAdebayo, so they should be able to play extremely well here.
The Heat are 9-2 Against The Spread in their last 11 games played in Boston so go with the better team getting points on the road as well as the over as it is 6-2 in their last eight games against each other.
Sacramento Kings @ New York Knicks (7:30 p.m.)
Favored Team and Spread: NY -5
Total Points: 214.5
Both of these teams are struggling right now as the Kings are on a six-game losing streak and the Knicks are 1-4 in their last five games.
However, this is the time for New York to pick up a win at home as Sacramento is 29th in the NBA, allowing 114.7 points per game. Compare that to the Knicks, who are fifth with 104.8 points given up point game, which is fifth in basketball.
The Knicks are not a great offensive team, so go with the under here, but they should be able to cover the spread at home in this game.
Toronto Raptors @ Atlanta Hawks (7:30 p.m.)
Favored Team and Spread: ATL -1
Total Points: 219.5
With a spread like this, we are picking a winner in this game, and Atlanta is on a roll right now. They are scoring 119.3 points in their last three games while Toronto is struggling but still putting up 114.8 points in their previous four games.
Point guard Trae Young is in the top five in points (27.7) and assists (9.3), so he gets his game going no matter what. Go with the Hawks to cover the spread and the over to hit as these teams are shooting the lights out of the gym recently.
Golden State Warriors @ Houston Rockets (8 p.m.)
Favored Team and Spread: GS -11
Total Points: 230.5
This number may feel a little big but remember that the Warriors have way more talent on their roster than a rebuilding Rockets team, and also, the Warriors are dominant this year.
They currently have the largest point differential (+8.1) and in points per game allowed (102). The trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins should dominate offensively, and the Houston team has been struggling overall as they are trying to figure out who will be with them long term. Golden State is 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games against Houston, so they should cover the spread here on the road.
The under is 12-5-1 in the last 18 games between these teams played in Houston, and this is a big number so go with the under in this game as well.
Portland Trail Blazers @ Oklahoma City Thunder (8 p.m.)
Favored Team and Spread: POR -3.5
Total Points: 217.5
This game is littered with injuries as small forward Nassir Little (shoulder), power forward Cody Zeller (knee), small forward Larry Nance Jr (knee), point guard Damian Lillard (abdominal), and point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (ankle) are all out for multiple weeks at the minimum.
C.J. McCollum has been doing pretty well in his last three games carrying Portland on his back as he is averaging 25 points, four rebounds, and five assists in that span. Oklahoma City struggles to put the ball in the basket as they are last in the NBA with 100.8 points per game.
All in all, go with Portland to win on the road by multiple possessions and the under to hit as there is not enough shooters to jump the point total quickly.
