The climax of the NFL season has finally arrived, as the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals are set to do battle in Super Bowl LVI. Los Angeles will look to right the wrongs of their Super Bowl loss from three seasons ago, while the Bengals will look to capitalize on their first Super Bowl appearance since 1988. For both teams, quarterback play will be key with both starting signal callers playing on this stage for the first time.

Super Bowl LVI Odds

Going into Super Bowl LVI, the Los Angeles Rams are a four-point favorite over Ohio’s Super Bowl representative. On the moneyline, the Rams are favorites in the neighborhood of -190 to -200, requiring a bet of $190 to $200 to turn a profit of $100, while the Bengals come in at roughly +170 to where a $100 bet would return $170. The over/under for the game is set at 48.5.

Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams have had the best of both worlds during the NFL playoffs, bringing an explosive offense and stellar defense into their home stadium for Super Bowl LVI. Los Angeles has held their opponents to 17 or fewer points in two of their three playoff games, while scoring 30 or more in two of their three playoff games as well. Here, they will look to bring their best defensive effort to slow down Joe Burrow and the Bengals.

If the Rams are going to win this game, it will be on the strength of their defensive front. Cincinnati has shown this postseason that they are susceptible to pressure from the opposing pass rush, after they gave up nine sacks in one game to the Tennessee Titans. Von Miller and Aaron Donald certainly h ave the ability to create pressure of their own, which could decide the outcome of the Super Bowl.

Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati had to pull two upsets in order to get to the Super Bowl, beating the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs on the road in their last two games to reach the Super Bowl. While Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati offense has received the bulk of the headlines throughout the postseason, it has been the defense of the Bengals that has been the most impressive. Cincinnati has allowed just under 20 points per game this postseason, and will look for another defensive gem in the Super Bowl.

Heading into this game, the pass protection of the Bengals will be the part of their game most capable of torpedoing their championship aspirations. Cincinnati will need to give Joe Burrow enough time to find all of his weapons, avoiding the need for Burrow to scramble around the way that he had to for portions of the win over the Chiefs. If they can do that, they could get the job done despite their lack of Super Bowl experience.

Super Bowl LVI Pick

While both teams have had great seasons, only one can win Super Bowl LVI. The pass rush of the Rams should be able to make the difference in this game, as both teams are evenly matched elsewhere. Expect Los Angeles to get pressure on the Bengals early and often, and to cover the spread while becoming the second straight team to win the Super Bowl on their home field.
