Thanksgiving Day NFL Best Bets

The National Football League has always played games on Thanksgiving Day, but the league has now taken over the entire holiday. There are three games scheduled to take place on Thursday, including some of the most storied franchises in the league.

You won’t find any teams from Ohio taking the field on Thanksgiving, but the three scheduled games are shaping up to be terrific matchups. Each game provides a good betting opportunity, and here are the three best NFL bets that you should be focusing on.

Chicago Bears -3 at Detroit Lions

The first game of the day will feature the 3-7 Chicago Bears traveling to Detroit to take on the 0-9-1 Lions. This game likely won’t be very pretty to watch, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a great betting opportunity.

Detroit will be without quarterback Jared Goff, and the offense wasn’t exactly playing well when he was under center. Running back D’Andre has rushed for 555 yards and four touchdowns this season, and he will need a big game on Thursday.

Chicago is also playing a backup quarterback, but this team wants to run the football anyways. David Montgomery is capable of racking up more than 100 yards on the ground, and the Bears also have a solid defense that can make big plays in this one.

It will be Chicago that spoils the Thanksgiving Day dinner for Detroit as the Bears cover the three-point spread.

Las Vegas Raiders +7.5 at Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have now lost two of three games, and they are dealing with serious injury concerns in this game. Quarterback Dak Prescott will still be on the field, and the Cowboys need their young star to have a big game.

Las Vegas has now lost three straight games, and the Raiders are averaging just 83 rushing yards per game. Quarterback Derek Carr is having a big season, but Las Vegas has to find a way to be more balanced on offense.

There is plenty of uncertainty surrounding this game, and it’s best to take the points and look for the Raiders to keep this one close.

Buffalo Bills -6.5 at New Orleans Saints

The day of football will end in New Orleans as the Saints are 6.5-point underdogs against the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo looked like the best team in the NFL a month ago, but things have gone the wrong direction for the Bills.

Protecting quarterback Josh Allen has been a problem for the Bills in recent weeks, and running the football has also been an issue at times for Buffalo. Allen has thrown for more than 2,800 yards this season, but he has started to turn the ball over some.

New Orleans has now lost three straight games, and the defense has really let the team down. The Saints are giving up nearly 270 passing yards per game, and that secondary will be tested in this one.

Despite the recent struggles for Buffalo, they are still loaded with offensive talent. The Bills use that offense to take control of this game and cover the 6.5-point spread.
