Three Cincinnati Bengals That Should Make the Pro Bowl
The Cincinnati Bengals are coming off two straight losses to the Los Angeles Chargers and the San Francisco 49ers. They are 7-6 and tied with the Browns for second place in the AFC North behind the Baltimore Ravens who are 8-5.
The Bengals are exceeding expectations this year with their young squad but have a lot of work to do if they want to stay in the playoff conversation as we near the home stretch of the season. The Bengals success has come from some very impressive play from a lot of their starters.
The Pro Bowl is set for February 6th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Let’s look at the top candidates from the Bengals to make the Pro Bowl.
Top Three Bengals to Make the Pro Bowl
Ja’Marr Chase
This is one of the easiest decisions for the Pro Bowl because of how explosive Chase has been in his rookie season. He is currently leading AFC wide receivers in votes and doesn’t seem to be slowing down his production anytime soon. He is coming off a two-touchdown effort last week against the 49ers.
On the season, Chase has 1,035 yards on 60 receptions and ten touchdowns. These are insane stats for a player just coming to the league. He is averaging 17.3 yards per reception and his longest catch was for 82 yards.
I find it hard to believe that Chase hasn’t already earned his spot in the Pro Bowl, but he needs to keep up his production to finish his monumental year off strong.
Trey Hendrickson
The Bengals’ defensive end is among one of the top vote getters for defensive ends in the league. He has had an impressive season thus far and is looking to avenge his snub from the Pro Bowl last season.
He has been able to get through the line to wreak havoc on the opposing offenses. He has 29 combined tackles, including 18 solo and 11 assisted tackles. He has hit the quarterback 20 times and has accounted for 12.5 sacks on the year. Hendrickson has also accounted for three forced fumbles.
Hakeem Adeniji
Adeniji, who is a new offensive tackle on the Bengals' much improved offensive line, has been one of the brightest points for the Bengals since they were not very optimistic about the strength of their line coming into the season. He has only played five games for the Bengals but has been solid throughout.
Hakeem Adeniji has been acquiring a considerable amount of votes to keep him in the Pro Bowl conversation. He is not necessarily at the top of the polls but with some more solid games, the 24-year-old could make an early appearance to a Pro Bowl.
Other Top Vote Getters
The other Bengals who are in the top 10 in votes include Joe Burrow, Joe Mixon, Jessie Bates, and Vonn Bell. There is still plenty of time left in this season for these players to make their case to the fans for the Pro Bowl.
