Top Cincinnati Bengals vs. Lions Prop Bets

The Cincinnati Bengals will go on the road to visit the Detroit Lions at Ford Field for a Sunday afternoon matchup at 1 pm EST on FOX. The Bengals are 3-2 and are in 2nd in the AFC North behind the Baltimore Ravens. Detroit is struggling at 0-5 and are last in the NFC North.

The Bengals are coming off an overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers in Cincinnati on a game-winning field goal by Mason Crosby. The Lions kept their Week 5 matchup close against the Minnesota Vikings but fell short in the end by a score of 19-17.

Let's take a look at the best prop bets for this matchup on Sunday.

Best Prop Bets

Joe Burrow over 280.5 passing yards (-115)

Burrow is averaging 253.8 passing yards per game, so he will need to overperform to hit this mark. I don't think he will have any issue with that because the Lions' defense is ranked 31st in yards given up against the top receiver that they are facing.

With Ja'Marr Chase being Burrow's favorite target, I expect him to be open quite a bit against the Lions. Burrow had 281 yards against the Packers last weekend so expect him to at least hit that number again.

Jared Goff over 256.5 passing yards (-115)

I am sticking with the quarterbacks in my first two picks because both secondaries have been spotty with injuries and inexperience. The Bengals are 28th in receiving yards given up to the opponent's top receiver, which is tight end T.J. Hockenson.

I don't think they will defend Hockenson very well in this one which will give Goff the opportunity to get in the groove with his tight end. The 255.5 yard mark is below Goff's season average of 260.6 yards per game.

Cincinnati Bengals Over 2.5 Touchdowns (-170)

The Bengals have not scored more than three touchdowns in a game all season, but this Lions defense is one of the worst that the Bengals will face. The Bengals offense has had moments of struggle, but they will score at least three touchdowns in this one.

This will be a game on the road for the Bengals and a much-needed win, and they will continue their streak as they have scored three touchdowns in their past three games against better teams than the Lions.

Expected Outcome

The Bengals should be able to pull out the win in this one, but I don't expect it to be pretty. Their defense is struggling through injuries which will keep this game close, but the Bengals' offense will be able to overpower the Lions' defense just enough to take the victory and put them at 4-2.

The Bengals are currently sitting at 2nd in the AFC North behind the Baltimore Ravens. A win against the Lions is much needed if they want to stay in the playoff hunt. They will play the Ravens in Week 7, which will be a tough game in a tough atmosphere in Baltimore.

The Lions are at the bottom of the NFC North and are looking for any reason to celebrate in a rebuilding year.
