Way Too Early 2022 World Series Futures

With the Atlanta Braves winning the 2021 World Series on Tuesday night lets take a look at some way too early 2022 WS odds:

The Favorites

Leading the pack at +550 to hoist the Commissioner’s Trophy next fall are the Los Angeles Dodgers, this team is still stacked but most likely will not keep shortstop Corey Seager as he heads into free agency. They could land another one of those highly touted free agent shortstops however and seemingly always find themselves in the hunt. Rounding out the top 5 we have the Astros (+900), the White Sox/ Rays (+1200), and the Atlanta Braves (+1400). If you’re looking to place a bet with great value, bet on those Braves while you can get them at +1400, this team just showed what they can do in an extremely tumultuous season. Once they get back Acuna, Soroka and Morton look out.

The Underdogs

The lowly Texas Rangers and Pittsburgh Pirates open as the biggest longshots to win the Fall Classic both at +20000. If you are an extreme risk taker and have never seen either of these teams play a baseball game I would say go ahead and bet on them…unfortunately that does not apply to me. They are followed by the Orioles (+15000), as well as the Nationals/Marlins at (+10000). If you want a good longshot throw some money down on the Marlins, their time is coming sooner rather than later.

Value Picks

As a Cleveland Guardians fan I feel compelled to point out that they are +6000 and for a team in an incredibly weak division, with the pitching staff they have there is no reason why they can’t make a deep playoff run barring something drastic happening like trading Jose Ramirez. The Padres at +2000 is also good value for a team looking to bounce back after a disappointing second half. If I had to make a smart pick that was not one of the favorites, I would go with the Toronto Blue Jays at +1400. Their young stars are only going to get better and if they get a little bit of pitching help they have the potential to be the best team in the AL East.
