Reds at Giants Betting Preview
The high-powered offense for the Cincinnati Reds heads to the Bay Area to take on the San Francisco Giants in a battle of two teams hot to start the 2021 season.
Wade Miley will start on the mound for the Reds, while Aaron Sanchez will take the ball for the Giants.
The Reds offense leads all of baseball in runs per game at 7.3, while the Giants sit 24th in the league at 3.4. Oracle Park is the most run suppressing stadium in all of baseball, so it will be quite a test for the Reds offense that has played most of its games in the hitter-friendly environment of Great American Ballpark.

First Place Reds Aim To Rebound
The Reds headed to Arizona this past weekend at 6-1 and in first place in the National League Central Division. They stumbled a bit in the desert as they dropped the final two games of the three-game set.
The offense cooled a bit in what is typically a hitter-friendly ballpark as they are likely regressing to the mean a bit after an outlandish start to the 2021 season.
The Reds still sit in first place at 6-3 but will need to take advantage of a weak Giants team to retain that lead over the Brewers and Cardinals hot on their heels.
Suprise Start For Giants
The 2021 San Francisco Giants did not come with high expectations. This is a team still in a bit of a transition as they rebuild in the most difficult division in all of baseball, the National League West.
However, they have sprung out of the gate to a 6-3 record, and while the offense leaves a lot to be desired, their pitching has been stellar.
Despite being 6-3, they are sitting in third place in the NL West behind the two best teams in the league, the Dodgers and Padres.
The Giants' pitching and defense have been great as they've only allowed 2.9 runs per game, good for third in baseball.
Reds at Giants Vegas Odds
Betting Line: Giants -120
Over/Under: 8.5
This is a tale of two teams if we have ever seen one. The Reds are a high-powered offense with a rather weak pitching, while the Giants are a pitching and defense-first team with a rather weak-hitting lineup.
Wade Miley was good in his first start with the Reds, as was Aaron Sanchez for the Giants, but both have some regression coming in their future starts.
Oracle suppresses power, but the Reds don't just hit home runs. I like their lineup, and they should be able to put up a few runs on Sanchez.
The Giants' offense can be rather abysmal at times, but they too should be able to put some runs on Miley.
This feels like a 5-4 type of game that could go either way, which is why the 8.5 over-under is more attractive than betting a team in this one.
