New York Yankees (-173) @ Toronto Blue Jays (+138):

Spread: New York Yankees -1.5 Over/Under: 8.0

Pitching Matchup: Fried (1.92 ERA) VS Gausman (4.21 ERA)

Story: This should be a great 3 game interdivisional series. The Yankees are 3 games ahead of the Blue Jays, but their offense has struggled to put up runs consistently. But, with that being said, when their bats are performing, this team can put up 5 runs with ease. A dangerous thing for a Blue Jays team who has struggled to keep things contained. They’ve won games despite this going 6-4 in their last 10 including a sweep of the Cleveland Guardians. Granted, Max Fried gets the ball in this one and he’s been a menace on the mound for the Yanks who should have no problem sealing the deal in game two of this series.

San Diego Padres (+128) @ Philadelphia Phillies (-159):

Spread: Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 Over/Under: 8.0

Pitching Matchup: Pivetta (3.36 ERA) VS C. Sánchez (2.79 ERA)

Story: This matchup is going to come down to the pitching and who can outlast who. Both these offenses have struggled to find consistency, going 6-4 and 5-5 in their last 10 games, respectively. But look for the Phillies to put up a competitive win as Bryce Harper inches closer and closer to a return.

St. Louis Cardinals (+138) @ Pittsburgh Pirates (-179):

Spread: Pittsburgh Pirates -1.5 Over/Under: 7.5

Pitching Matchup: Pallante (4.43 ERA) VS Skenes (2.12 ERA)

Story: The Cards have been playing some crazy good baseball recently. Putting up 5+ runs all but one of their last 10 games and riding a hot streak versus a Pirates team that has performed recently better than they should be. Add that to the horrendous outing Skenes had during his last start and the stress of a possible trade looming, this should be an easy game for the Cardinals to take.

Minnesota Twins (-148) @ Miami Marlins (+118):

Spread: Minnesota Twins -1.5 Over/Under: 7.5

Pitching Matchup: Ryan (2.86 ERA) VS E. Cabrera (3.78 ERA)

Story: Speaking of red-hot teams, the Marlins have been an interesting watch these last 10 games, to say the least. The team has a 4.21 ERA in their last 10 games but despite this and giving up 43 runs in those 10 games, an insane 8-2 stretch of baseball. The best part is these have been competitive games. This team has got a bit of fight in it, and that could be dangerous with the teams ahead of them struggling.

Detroit Tigers (-152) @ Washington Nationals (+123):

Spread: Detroit Tigers Over/Under: 9.5

Pitching Matchup: Flaherty (4.80 ERA) VS Williams (5.65 ERA)

Story: James Wood, a superstar in the making, and by far one of the most electric players in baseball. Hitting just under .300 and hitting 22 homers… An explosive performance jump compared to his rookie year. And with the heavy-hitting Tigers seeming to have come back down to earth, baseball fans are hoping to see the Nat’s pick up steam. For James Woods sake.

Athletics (+125) @ Tampa Bay Rays (-157):

Spread: Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 Over/Under: 8.5

Pitching Matchup: Springs (4.30 ERA) VS Baz (4.37 ERA)

Story: Rays could not have asked for a better opponent when you consider standings. But the Athletics have surprised many teams and taken games they had no business winning. Even with that in mind though, the A’s are still the A’s, and the Rays have a chance to prove they belong in that top spot.

Cincinnati Reds (-105) @ Boston Red Sox (-121):

Spread: Cincinnati Reds -1.5 Over/Under: 10

Pitching Matchup: Singer (4.31 ERA) VS Fitts (4.68 ERA)

Story: The Reds have been nothing short of disappointment, so much talent but they can’t quite crack it. Calls for Tito to step down are getting loud, but they are still above .500 and there is plenty of hope for their postseason aspirations. And what better way to boost those chances than to bully a Red Sox team that is struggling to find their identity.

Milwaukee Brewers (+112) @ New York Mets (-139):

Spread: New York Mets -1.5 Over/Under: 8.5

Pitching Matchup: F. Peralta (2.90 ERA) VS C. Holmes (2.97 ERA)

Story: Where to begin… I have to admit as a Mets fan; this stretch has been a TOUGH stretch of baseball to watch for a team that started the season looking exactly like the team we expected them to be. But with the regressions in starting pitching and bats who disappear when there are RISP, pile that with a boiling hot Brewers team… I hate to say it, but unless there are drastic changes to the Mets (Eric Chavez, when I catch you), the Brewers could be in first place of the NLC by the time the 27th out is recorded.

Los Angeles Angels (+138) @ Atlanta Braves (-173):

Spread: Atlanta Braves -1.5 Over/Under: 9.5

Pitching Matchup: Ty Anderson (4.41 ERA) VS Fuentes (10.80 ERA)

Story: Man, the Angels just cannot crack .500 can they? And the Braves just can’t find their footing. This game could go either way but the ground under Fuentes has been unsteady. Pitching 8 innings in 2 games and surrendering 10 runs off just 14 hits… If they can score early and score fast, this game will be over with.

Cleveland Guardians (+148) @ Chicago Cubs (-186):

Spread: Chicago Cubs -1.5 Over/Under: 8.0

Pitching Matchup: G. Williams (3.68 ERA) VS Boyd (2.65 ERA)

Story: 88-60…. The Cleveland Guardians have been outscored by 28 runs in their last 20 GAMES… including being absolutely rocked by the Cardinals. With no sign that DeLauter is getting brought up… #GuardsBall is officially dead in the water unless there are some major culture changes. Not just in the everyday lineup but also in our coaching staff.

Baltimore Orioles (+170) @ Texas Rangers (-213):

Spread: Texas Rangers -1.5 Over/Under: 7.5

Pitching Matchup: C. Morton (5.63 ERA) VS deGrom (2.08 ERA)

Story: Baseball is better when Jacob deGrom is playing baseball. He has been lethal on the mound for the Rangers. But even with him dealing, this game could go either way as the Rangers offense has been spotty at best and absolutely vanished at worst.

Houston Astros (-162) @ Colorado Rockies (+130):

Spread: Houston Astros -1.5 Over/Under: 11.0

Pitching Matchup: C. Gordon (3.98 ERA) VS Dollander (6.06 ERA)

Story: “Don’t let us get hot” …. Words from the Rockies interim manager. Well, it seems like the league has taken notes because the Rockies are currently sitting quite comfortably at home at the bottom of their division and a wild 46 games below .500. With the Astros returning to form, it seems like that gap is going to get PLENTY wider by the time this season ends.

Kansas City Royals (+125) @ Seattle Mariners (-157):

Spread: Seattle Mariners -1.5 Over/Under: 8.5

Pitching Matchup: Lorenzen (4.91 ERA) VS Hancock (5.30 ERA)

Story: Cal Raleigh is SO good. Despite his OPS being .388, he is batting .275 and a historic 32 homers to add to that. With that, Mariners are in a good spot, but this Royals team is tricky and while the Royals have been written off a few times, they seem to win when it matters and are sticking around the harder playing teams so credit where credit is due.

San Francisco Giants (+114) @ Arizona Diamondbacks (-141):

Spread: Arizona Diamondbacks -1.5 Over/Under: 9.0

Pitching Matchup: Birdsong (4.13 ERA) VS Gallen (5.75 ERA)

Story: Man, both teams have so much promise, but without execution, which is all they have. Just promise. The pitching for both has been mediocre at best, walks being a problem especially for Gallen who is a shell of his 2024 self.

Chicago White Sox (+270) @ Los Angeles Dodgers (-371):

Spread: Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 Over/Under: 8.5

Pitching Matchup: S. Smith (3.38.38 ERA) VS Yamamoto (2.61 ERA)

Story: Finally, Dodgers fans can watch some good pitching with Yamamoto getting the start for this one. Safe to say, he’ll go more than one inning and when he finds the zone, it is something fun to watch and with the White Sox being historically themselves, this should be a nice one to watch.
