Today in the MLB: June 27, 2025 best Bets, Odds, Lines, and More
New York Mets (-152) @ Pittsburgh Pirates (+120):
Spread: New York Mets -1.5 Over/Under: 8.5
Pitching Matchup: D. Peterson (2.98 ERA) VS M. Keller (4.02 ERA)
Story: The Mets are officially back, ladies and gentlemen! Riding a 2-game win streak off a team they struggle with every year makes this matchup in Pittsburgh even more interesting. With only a 0.5 game separating them from the Phillies and first place in the NL East, it is a must-win… especially when you’re playing a struggling Pirates team and were just roughed up by divisional opponents the last 2 weeks.
Athletics (+180) @ New York Yankees (-233):
Spread: New York Yankees -1.5 Over/Under: 8.5
Pitching Matchup: M. Spence (3.84 ERA) VS W. Warren (4.66 ERA)
Story: Watch out, AL! Here comes the A’s. This team has been an interesting one. Despite their record being 33-49, they aren’t a terrible team, and with the Yankees having their share of offensive woes… It could mean the A’s take this one from them.
Tampa Bay Rays (-129) @ Baltimore Orioles (+102):
Spread: Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 Over/Under: 8.5
Pitching Matchup: R. Pepiot (3.01 ERA) VS T. Sugano (3.55 ERA)
Story: The Rays couldn’t have asked for a better match-up with 1.0 game separating them from first place in the AL East. The Orioles have been terrible this year, even with Jackson Holliday and Gunnar Henderson having great years (both batting near .300 on the season).
Minnesota Twins (-109) @ Detroit Tigers (-114):
Spread: Minnesota Twins -1.5 Over/Under: 9.0
Pitching Matchup: TBD VS S. Gipson-Long (4.59 ERA)
Story: The Twins are catching the Tigers at the right time after a 4-6 stretch. Granted, the Twins aren’t much better at 2-8 in their last 10. But the ALC has a habit of coming down to the wire, so it makes wins in this division even more important.
San Diego Padres (-150) @ Cincinnati Reds (+120):
Spread: San Diego Padres -1.5 Over/Under: 9.0
Pitching Matchup: D. Cease (4.43 ERA) VS N. Martinez (4.40 ERA)
Story: 5.5 games separate both teams from 1st place in their divisions. The only difference is that the Padres have what the MLB believes is the best team in baseball, whereas the Reds have the Cardinals, Brewers, and Cubs ahead of them. So, the winner gets an important leg up against their opponents.
St. Louis Cardinals (-129) @ Cleveland Guardians (+104):
Spread: St. Louis Cardinals -1.5 Over/Under: 8.5
Pitching Matchup: S. Gray (3.72 ERA) VS L. Ortiz (4.30 ERA)
Story: Chase DeLauter when? What else is there to say? This offense, like I said yesterday, has so much potential, and we’ve seen it. But these young guys in AAA (DeLauter and Kayfus) could bring some life into this team. Look at the Mets last year, even something as simple as a vibe shift can change the entire outcome of a season.
Toronto Blue Jays (-114) @ Boston Red Sox (-109):
Spread: Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 Over/Under: 8.5
Pitching Matchup: J. Berrios (3.51 ERA) VS B. Bello (3.31 ERA)
Story: Both teams are in the middle of the pack, but after trading Devers, the Red Sox have a lot to prove, and this is the perfect time for their young guys to prove that they belong in The Show. But this is another big interdivisional matchup, where both teams need a win to stay in the race.
Philadelphia Phillies (+117) @ Atlanta Braves (-148):
Spread: Atlanta Braves -1.5 Over/Under: 9.0
Pitching Matchup: M. Abel (3.47 ERA) VS B. Elder (4.77 ERA)
Story: The Braves have woken up in recent games, after a horrendous start to the season, they are only 9 games back from first place. After bullying the Mets, it’s the perfect opportunity for them to continue that momentum for a chance to knock the Phillies down a few games closer. This is THE series to keep an eye on as the postseason implications could be MASSIVE.
San Francisco Giants (-176) @ Chicago White Sox (+140):
Spread: San Francisco Giants -1.5 Over/Under: 9.0
Pitching Matchup: L. Roupp (3.67 ERA) VS A. Civale (5.03 ERA)
Story: If there were a definition of a mid-off in the MLB it would be this series. Both teams are 3-7 in their last 10… The only positive is that Civale is pitching, so the Giants should have no problem putting up runs, with him giving up 19 runs in 7 starts.
Seattle Mariners (-114) @ Texas Rangers (+140):
Spread: Seattle Mariners -1.5 Over/Under: 7.5
Pitching Matchup: L. Gilbert (3.12 ERA) VS N. Eovaldi (1.56 ERA)
Story: The Rangers have had an interesting turn of events, becoming a shell of a team that won the World Series in 2023. But that aside, Eovaldi is taking the mound in this one. He’s been quite the surprise for both the team and the fans. Posting a LETHAL 1.56 ERA in 69.1 innings at 35 is nothing short of fantastic. So, this game is going to be a fun one, especially with Cal Raleigh on a historic run.
Chicago Cubs (-110) @ Houston Astros (-113):
Spread: Chicago Cubs -1.5 Over/Under: 8.0
Pitching Matchup: C. Horton (3.73 ERA) VS B. Walter (3.80 ERA)
Story: Both teams lead their divisions, but the Astros have the red-hot Mariners to worry about. While the Cubs have the sneaky Brewers slowly climbing the ladder. While this game likely won’t mean much in the long run, it’s always fun to watch two historic franchises face off.
Colorado Rockies (+170) @ Milwaukee Brewers (-213):
Spread: Milwaukee Brewers -1.5 Over/Under: 8.5
Pitching Matchup: TBD VS J. Quintana (2.98 ERA)
Story: It should be a clean and easy series for the Brewers. Home field advantage, worst team in baseball, and only 2.5 games keeping them from the top spot. So, with a little help from the Astros, we could see the Brewers (who dominated Skenes on Thursday) take 1st and gain a bit of an edge.
Los Angeles Dodgers (-164) @ Kansas City Royals (+132):
Spread: Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 Over/Under: 9.5
Pitching Matchup: D. May (4.46 ERA) VS N. Cameron (2.08 ERA)
Story: KC could easily take this game, Cameron has been electric two watch, though he’s struggled at home with a 3.09 ERA (compared to a 1.11 ERA when he’s away) and struggling isn’t something you want when you're playing a disciplined offense like the Dodgers, but if he finds the zone early and with a little help from May’s struggling performances on the mound, the Royals could pull the rug out from the best team in baseball.
Washington Nationals (+138) @ Los Angeles Angels (-173):
Spread: Los Angeles Angels -1.5 Over/Under: 8.5
Pitching Matchup: J. Irvin (4.18 ERA) VS J. Soriano (3.39 ERA)
Story: What is going on with the Nationals? Even with most of their starters batting well above .220 and James Wood’s insane run this season, they just can’t seem to catch a break. They need their pitchers to step up if they are going to take a game from the Angels (who’ve had their struggles this season as well), especially in a division with the Mets, Braves, and Phillies.
Miami Marlins (+143) @ Arizona Diamondbacks (-179):
Spread: Arizona Diamondbacks -1.5 Over/Under: 8.5
Pitching Matchup: E. Perez (6.17 ERA) VS M. Kelly (3.39 ERA)
Story: The Diamondbacks have been a nice surprise this year. They’re not doing anything special, but averaging 5 runs a game is something to hang your hat on. Their pitching has been a dark spot for them, with their starters underperforming expectations. If they want a chance to climb their division standings, they need something to change, and it’s not on offense.
