Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic dribbles the ball during game

The NBA Most Valuable Player award is the league's top individual honor given for their regular season play.

Many gamblers will be trying to get their teeth into the NBA betting markets when the board shuffles. Additionally, just like the previous two seasons, a matchup between Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid appears to be shaping up for the 2023 MVP award.

Nikola Jokic -250

When placing a bet on Nikola Jokic for MVP, you shouldn’t be deterred by the Nuggets star winning in 2021 and 2022. The Serbian superstar has continued to perform at a level that makes him the NBA MVP favorite.

The two-time defending MVP, has been on an incredible tear for the past two and a half months, comfortably averaging a triple-double during a period during which the Nuggets rose to the top spot in the West.

Being MVP three times is no easy feat. Only three players have ever accomplished it, and Jokic could be the fourth. With the Nuggets currently five games ahead in the Western Conference standings, Jokic putting up another ludicrous offensive season is enough reason for voters to hand him another MVP title.

Giannis Antetokounmpo +500

Giannis is obviously the heart and soul of the Milwaukee Bucks, and he has led them on a seven-game winning streak with averages of 40.2 PPG, 14.7 RPG, and 4 APG after missing six games due to knee pain.

With the Bucks fighting for the top spot in the East, the Greek Freak could easily take over and bring home his third MVP award. The key will be for Milwaukee to keep their star player healthy.

Joel Embiid +600

Embiid collected the Eastern Conference Player of the Month award for the second consecutive month, and he is looking to grab his first MVP award. The MVP candidate was on a roll, scoring 30 points or more in nine of his ten games, including seven straight from January 2 to 19.

When the 76ers played the Nuggets at the end of January, Joel Embiid dominated Jokic and the Nuggets. He did more than just rise to the occasion, throttling the MVP leader for an emphatic 47/18/5 in a win that at the time brought Philadelphia within a hair of the No. 1 seed in the East.

If the Philadelphia 76ers can topple the Celtics and Bucks to take over the top spot in the East, the award will go home with Embiid. He’s averaging 33.5 points per game and 10.1 rebounds. The Process has been an absolute monster, and he could easily take home the MVP by season’s end.

Luka Doncic +1600

Each of the previous two seasons, Luka Doncic was considered the preseason betting favorite, but the Slovenian is still looking for his first MVP award.

This season, Doncic has unquestionably put up huge numbers, with his current run of 50-point performances. However, Luka has missed several games with foot, ankle, and heel injuries. He’ll have to keep posting gaudy numbers in addition to the Mavericks making the playoffs in order to secure his first MVP trophy.
