The NFC East has been the best division in the NFL through the first five weeks of the season, and the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys have been a huge reason why.

Philadelphia is undefeated coming into this week at 5-0, while Dallas is 4-1 and on a four-game winning streak. On Sunday Night Football in Week 6, these teams will square off, with the winner set to take the top spot in the NFC East at the end of the week.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have won four straight games, all with Cooper Rush as their starting quarterback. Last week, they got the better of the defending champion Los Angeles Rams, holding them to just 10 points in that victory. This week, a similar defensive effort will be needed for the Cowboys to get a fifth straight win and to leapfrog the Eagles in the NFC East standings.

After some deliberation, it looks like Cooper Rush will once again get the start for the Cowboys in this contest. Dak Prescott is anticipated to get one more week off before returning to his spot under center, which may not be a bad thing given that Rush is a perfect 4-0 as a starter this season.

Rush will need to play one of his best games of the season this week, though, to keep up with the high-flying Philadelphia offense.

Philadelphia Eagles

Last week, the Philadelphia Eagles improved to 5-0 on the season by narrowly escaping the Arizona Cardinals in a 20-17 game. Philadelphia got out to a multi-possession lead early but struggled to move the ball in the second half.

They were fortunate to escape with the win when Arizona missed a late field goal that would have otherwise tied the game, and the Eagles will hope to not need good fortune to beat the Cowboys.

This week, the Eagles will be tested offensively in a way that they have not been tested yet this season. Philadelphia ranks fifth in scoring offense so far this season but faces one of the best defenses in the league here.

While Jalen Hurts has been very impressive through the first five weeks of the year, this will be a level of competition for him that will go a long way in showing what he is made of going into the rest of the season.

Keys To The Game

The biggest key for the Dallas Cowboys in this game is their pass rush, which is one of the best in the NFL. They are going to need to get pressure on Jalen Hurts in this contest without allowing him to break containment and make plays with his legs.

If they can do both of those things, the Cowboys have a very good shot at improving to 5-1 on the year with a win in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia's biggest key to this game is going to be their ability to neutralize the Cowboys' pass rush with their running game. The best way to prevent the Cowboys from pinning their ears back and rushing the quarterback is to pick up yardage on the ground on the first and second down.

If they can do that, the Eagles' offense will have a much better chance to succeed on Sunday night.
