Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen throws a pass vs. Green Bay Packers

On Sunday Night Football in Week 8, the Green Bay Packers go to Orchard Park to take on the Buffalo Bills.

This was expected to be a possible Super Bowl preview going into the season, but the Packers have lost three straight games and find themselves below .500 coming in.

As a result, the Bills are 11-point favorites and will look to improve to 3-0 at home on the season in front of a raucous home crowd.

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have lost three straight games as a favorite coming into this Sunday night showdown with the Buffalo Bills. After losing to the New York Giants in London, they have lost at home to the New York Jets before falling to the Washington Commanders on the road last week.

The offense of the Packers has struggled since halftime of the game against the Giants, something the Packers will aim to correct against Buffalo.

In order for the Packers to get things going offensively, they are going to need to find some help at the wide receiver position.

Allen Lazard is doubtful for this game, while Sammy Watkins and Christian Watson are both questionable.

For a team struggling to find its footing in the passing game of late, these injuries could not come at a worse time, as Aaron Rodgers enter this matchup as a double-digit underdog for the first time in his professional career.

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills had their bye week in Week 7, and come out of their bye with a 5-1 record. Buffalo’s lone loss came against the Miami Dolphins, in a game where the Bills dominated every part of the game but the final score.

Here, the Bills will look to remain a dominant force led by Josh Allen against the Packers to move to 6-1 and continue to state their case as the favorites to win the Super Bowl.

For the Bills, defense being a strength will come in handy, as they have to continue to make Rodgers’ life miserable on the field. Buffalo has the top-scoring defense in the NFL this season, and they allow the fewest yards per game to opposing offenses.

If they can remain stingy against Rodgers and the Packers in this contest, they could easily become a 6-1 team after Week 8.

Keys To The Game

For the Packers, the key to this game is going to be their defense. Green Bay has really struggled offensively this season, and will need to keep up with a Buffalo offense that is among the best in the NFL.

If Green Bay can get stops and give their offense a chance to keep up in this contest, they will have a chance to make this game an interesting one.

On the Buffalo side of things, running the football will be important to their success. As good as Josh Allen and the Bills passing attack is, no NFL offense is as effective as it can be when it is predictable.

If the Bills can achieve some variety on the ground, they will reduce the amount of pressure Allen faces when passing, which will mean good things for the favorites in this contest.
