Los Angeles Lakers guard Russell Westbrook is guarded by Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell

The Cleveland Cavaliers (15-9) are coming off a loss to the New York Knicks but have won two of their last three games.

The Los Angeles Lakers (10-12) are playing much better basketball as of late, as they’ve won three straight games and five of their last six.

We should be in for an exciting NBA game!

Los Angeles Lakers Betting Preview

Anthony Davis has heard all of the jokes, as he’s dealt with various injuries throughout the last few seasons.

However, he’s having the last laugh, as he’s coming off a 55-point performance in the Lakers’ recent win over the Washington Wizards. He also added 17 rebounds and three blocks.

Davis had 44 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in the game prior to that one, which was a win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Don’t look now, but AD is slowly emerging as the best player on a team that has yes, I said it, LeBron James.

LeBron has been carrying his weight as well despite being nearly 38 years old, as he put up 29 points, eight rebounds, and six assists in his most recent game.

Russell Westbrook has embraced his role off the bench, as he put up six points, seven rebounds, and 15 assists.

When the Lakers get these type of contributions from these three guys while playing them with the best personnel that complements them well, then they’ll be one of the best teams in the league and a legitimate championship contender.

Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Preview

The Cavs are coming off a loss to the Knicks, as they were only able to put up 81 points in the game.

Donovan Mitchell was a bright spot, as he was surely playing with a chip on his shoulder, given that the New York native was linked to the Knicks in trade rumors all summer long.

Darius Garland had 17 points and three assists in the losing effort. Evan Mobley provided 11 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists.

The Cavs were missing Jarrett Allen, who is currently deemed questionable for this game.

If the Cavs can get Allen back, he would go a long way in protecting the rim against LeBron and AD while using his size to body up the red-hot Davis.

Odds

The Cavs are favored by a -4 spread.

In year’s past, this game would just be LeBron James returning to Cleveland, but with the full expectation that the Cavs would get blown out.

However, the Cavs have now built themselves into legitimate title contenders, so LeBron will have his work cut out for him to lead his team to victory.

With the way the Lakers have been playing lately, especially with the tear Anthony Davis has been on, expect them to pull out a victory on the road to keep their winning ways going.
