It’s championship Sunday in NCAA basketball, and the Big Ten Conference is one league that is set to claim a winner. In the title game, it will be the Purdue Boilermakers taking on the Iowa Hawkeyes in what should be a terrific battle.

Iowa comes into this game with a ton of momentum after picking up a last-second win over Indiana in the semifinals. The Hawkeyes are a team that is loaded with talent, but they haven’t always been able to put their best effort on the floor consistently.

Purdue has been a popular betting pick to win the national championship all season long, and they are starting to look like that team. The Boilermakers were able to narrowly squeak by Michigan State in a tough battle in the semifinal round.

The Purdue Boilermakers are slim two-point betting favorites over the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Big Ten Championship Game.

Hawkeyes Can Light it Up

The offensive numbers for Iowa this season are incredibly impressive, and they have shown the ability to light it up in a hurry. Iowa is scoring over 84 points per game this season, and they are a team that is going to shoot a ton of shots from deep.

Keegan Murray leads the way for Iowa with 23.4 points per game, and he has taken over some games in Big Ten Conference action. Jordan Bohanan hit three deep shots for the Hawkeyes in crunch time on Saturday, and he will be a key in this game as well.

The Hawkeyes are allowing over 71 points per game this season, and they will have to be solid on the defensive end of the floor to pick up a win in this game.

Purdue Has the Size

The biggest advantage that Purdue has in this game comes in the paint as the Boilermakers have two terrific centers. Purdue is scoring over 80 points per game, but they are a team that doesn’t always rely on the three-point shot to get the offense rolling.

Jaden Ivey is a superstar that leads the way for the Boilermakers, and he is pouring in over 17 points per game. Ivey sets the tone for this offense, but he also has plenty of talent surrounding him, and that entire roster can make some plays.

The Boilermakers will try to win this game on the defensive end as they are giving up just 68.5 points per game. Fatigue is going to impact the shooting on Sunday, and Purdue will try to make a stand with its defense.

Boilermakers Get it Done

The offensive ability of Iowa is hard to ignore, but Purdue has the ability to shut down any opponent with its defense. Iowa has some issues on the defensive side of the ball, and that is going to have an impact on the outcome of this game.

Both of these teams have been getting off to slow starts in the Big Ten Tournament, and fatigue is definitely going to play a role in this game. Don’t expect a ton of points scored on Sunday, even though both teams have shown the ability to light up the scoreboard.

The Boilermakers have been the best overall team in the Big Ten this season, and they will prove it on Sunday. Bet the Purdue Boilermakers -2.0 as they claim the Big Ten Conference championship.
