The 2022 NCAA Tournament field is set, and there are going to be plenty of title predictions made over the next few days. Taking a look at the entire bracket is always fun, but it’s also important to break this down and look into each region.

The Midwest Regional Finals will be held in Chicago, Illinois, but there is going to be plenty of other great action before getting to that point. Kansas is the top seed in the Midwest Region, but the Jayhawks are going to have plenty of challenges on the way to New Orleans.

Here are the betting odds to win the Midwest Region in the NCAA Tournament:

Kansas Jayhawks +180

Auburn Tigers +350

Iowa Hawkeyes +550

Wisconsin Badgers +1200

USC Trojans +1800

LSU Tigers +1800

Providence Friars +2000

Miami Hurricanes +3000

San Diego State Aztecs +4000

Iowa State Cyclones +5000

Creighton Bulldogs +5000

South Dakota State Jackrabbits +8000

Richmond Spiders +9000

Texas Southern Tigers +20000

Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Islanders +20000

Colgate Raiders +20000

Jacksonville State Gamecocks +20000

Loaded With Top Teams

All of the regions in the NCAA Tournament are loaded with good teams, but it feels like the Midwest Region might be the best of the bunch. Obviously, any region that has Kansas as the number 1 seed is going to be strong, but there are great teams all the way down to the number nine seed.

Auburn and Wisconsin are numbers 2 and 3 in the Midwest Region, and both teams had terrific regular seasons. The Tigers play at a ridiculous pace while the Badgers know how to slow games down and control the tempo.

The Providence Friars, Iowa Hawkeyes, LSU Tigers, and USC Trojans make up seeds 4-7, and those teams are all capable of a deep run as well. Whoever wins the Midwest Region is going to be extremely battle-tested.

Underdogs to Watch

The Richmond Spiders are a team to keep an eye on in the Midwest Region, especially since they are a number 12 seed. This is typically the part of the bracket that sees the most upsets in the first round, and the Spiders have plenty of talent.

South Dakota State comes into the NCAA Tournament with just four losses on the year, and they have enough talent to make a run as well. Facing Providence in the First Round won’t be easy, but this is a team that won’t be scared to play a Big East team.

Hawkeyes Win the Midwest

There will be plenty of people backing the Kansas Jayhawks or Auburn Tigers to win the Midwest Region, and those teams are certainly good enough. Kansas would be a tough team to beat in a seven-game series, but that’s not the case in the NCAA Tournament.

The Midwest Regional Final is actually going to turn into a Big Ten Conference showdown as it will be the Iowa Hawkeyes and Wisconsin Badgers in the Elite 8. Wisconsin won the regular-season crown in the Big Ten, but it will be Iowa that wins the Midwest to move on to the Final Four.
