The 2022 Winter Olympics are set to begin on February 4 and will run all the way through February 20. The Winter Olympics don’t draw as much attention as the Summer Games, but there is still plenty on the line when it comes to this event.

Not only will the 2022 Winter Olympics provide a ton of entertainment, but they will also provide some great betting opportunities. There are going to be plenty of Winter Olympics betting options available, but only a handful of them will qualify as best bets to make.

Most Gold Medals

Betting on individual events is always going to be attractive to sports bettors, but the Olympics work a little bit differently. Futures betting is going to play a key role when it comes to the Winter Olympics, and focusing on the most gold medals is going to be popular.

Norway is the current betting favorite to win the most gold medals, and they are pretty overwhelming at -500. Germany is next on the list at +650, and that is a pretty large and significant gap between the top two betting options.

The United States comes in at +1400 on the list, but don’t be surprised to see them make a run at winning the most gold medals. Since there is no value in betting on Norway with this market, take the U.S. at +1400 and hope for some upsets in individual or team events.

Hockey Always A Favorite

Hockey is always one of the most important events at any Winter Olympics, and that will be the case again during these Olympic games. On the men’s side, the NHL is not sending players over to Beijing, and that is disappointing, to say the least.

Team Canada and Team USA are going to be affected in a big way by the lack of NHL players competing in the Olympics, and that has the Russian Olympic Committee as the favorite at +150. Finland (+400), Sweden (+500), and Canada (+600) are next on the list for betting favorites, and the Gold Medal winner should come from this group of teams.

Women’s ice hockey is going to be a much tighter race, but there are two teams that clearly stand above the pack. The United States team has odds set at -105 to win the Gold Medal, and Team Canada has odds set at -110.

The best bet to make is to take the United States over Canada in women’s hockey.

What Can Shiffrin Do?

Mikaela Shiffrin comes into the Winter Olympics as one of the most important athletes for the United States team. Shiffrin is one of the top skiers in the world, and all eyes will be on her when it comes to the slalom.

Shiffrin is known for showing up on the biggest stage, and she is the odds on favorite to win the Women’s Giant Slalom with odds set at +250. In the Women’s Slalom, Shiffrin has odds set at +110, and she is someone that you are going to want to bet on in both events.
