Browns vs. Raiders Week 15 Prop Bets
The Cleveland Browns and Las Vegas Raiders will square off on Monday in Week 15 of the NFL season. And with some notable absences on the Browns’ side of the equation, there are some interesting prop betting looks to explore heading into this contest. These three props in particular are worth firing on as the Browns look to do Ohio proud on Saturday.
Browns Over 19.5 Points (-110)
Cleveland’s offense is being decimated by COVID-19 issues, with important players like Jarvis Landry set to miss out on this game due to the league’s protocols. Among those key players set to miss out on this matchup is Baker Mayfield, who tested positive for the virus earlier this week. But in the prop betting market, it is the over on the Browns team total that really catches the eye.
Bookmakers have over-adjusted for the loss of Mayfield, moving the Browns from a six-point favorite earlier this week to a slight underdog. But the Browns have already proven they can win with Case Keenum against a respectable opponent from the AFC West. They should be able to do the same here, and the over 19.5 points prop for the Browns looks like a decent bet thanks to the Browns’ rushing attack.
First Scoring Play: Browns Field Goal (+280)
Prop betting is more about finding interesting angles that create value in the betting markets ahead of each week of action in the NFL. This next prop bet is an embodiment of that, as we like the Browns to kick a field goal to open the scoring in this contest. Even with a backup quarterback, there is some value to be had here based on the anticipated early game script of this contest.
Early in this contest, the Browns should rely heavily on their running game, which is likely to go well given their success running the football all year long. But, after getting into enemy territory, the Browns could face more resistance as they try and punch the ball in for six. At close to 3/1 odds, relying on the Raiders defense to eventually slow down the run enough to force a field goal attempt is worth a look.
Highest Scoring Half: Second Half (-105)
This is another prop bet where anticipating what kind of game script we see can help bring us value. Here, we again focus on the Browns quarterback situation and anticipate that things will get easier for Case Keenum in the second half. The reason for this is that Keenum will likely need some time in the first half to adjust to playing football at this level once again.
Once Keenum has had some time to adjust, the Browns should be at least a little more potent in the second half of this game. While that might not translate to deep throws and flashy offense, it should see more points scored in the second half when compared to the first half of this game on Saturday night.
