Detroit Pistons at Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Preview: Cavs Look to Rebound

Finishing games is something that holds the most weight when it comes to measuring the true direction a rebuild is going in. For the Cavs, so far this season they have been heading in the right direction, finishing games and entering Wednesday's game 3-0 when a game is decided by three points or less.

Heading into Friday’s game against the Pistons, they will be coming off of a tough pill to swallow, as they lost to the Wizards Wednesday night 97-94, a game they definitely should have taken.

What’s the second category that holds the most weight when it comes to measuring a rebuild? Beating teams you know you can beat. Fortunately for the Cavs, Friday's game comes against a team they absolutely can beat, as the 2-8 Pistons come to town.

The Cavs will get their first look at number one overall pick Cade Cunningham, as Cunningham will enter action only having played a handful of NBA games as he started the season on the bench dealing with an injury.

Cavs guard Isaac Okoro returned to action on Wednesday after injuring his calf a few weeks ago, leading him to miss several games. Okoro held Wizards star Bradley Beal to what was a completely quiet game from the field, proving the Cavs need his defense presence on the floor every night.

Kevin Love and Lauri Markkanen remain in the NBAs Health and Safety Protocol, so their return to the lineup is still uncertain. Okoro appeared to have injured his lower leg on Wednesday after getting rolled up on late in the game, leading to JB Bickerstaff removing him from the game.

Bickerstaff said he appears to be good to go, so expect Okoro to guard Cunningham if he is full go. Look for the Cavs to attack the paint early and often, and get future star Evan Mobley involved as much as possible. Mobley continues to do nothing but impress, as every game he seems to do something different to completely shock everyone watching the game.

Matchup of the game: Evan Mobley vs Saddiq Bey

The 6-foot-7 forward for the Pistons is putting up decent numbers, averaging 13.4 PPG with seven rebounds per game as well. That said, the seven foot rookie phenom in Mobley will look to take advantage of Bey and attack early, having a height and length advantage from tip-off.

I am confident the Cavs have officially turned the page in the rebuild, meaning I’m confident they can find a way to get it done against one of the league's worst teams on their home court, as they look to take advantage of seven of their next eight being at home.

Prediction: Cavs 105, Pistons 92
