It's Official: Hello Guardians Baseball!
A new era of baseball today starts in our home city of Cleveland. Guardians baseball.
The name change was made official this morning. The team shop at Progressive Field has the initial launch of Cleveland Guardians gear out for the masses. They also transistioned their social handles throughout the night last night and into this morning.
The team also released a social media video with the voice of the Guardians, Tom Hamilton, from the end of the season about the more simple things and moments in time that defined this franchise.
Moments like five run rallies to get back into the game, the Rajai Davis home run to tie the game in game seven showing all the grit and resolve Clevelanders are known for, going to your first baseball game whether at the old stadium or at Progressive Field. For me, the Lindor Grand Slam in the 2017 ALDS in game two is something that personally comes to the front of my mind. I was in the stadium that night and saw it happen live, I got to touch that home run ball. Moments like that are priceless.
With all that said, as the team transistions to a new name, lets continue to have this team's back and show up for them. The stadium is on lease until 2036 and they will continue to improve the stadium and upgrade already first class amenities. We are unbelieveably fortuanate to have three major sports teams here.
Welcome Guardians, I can't wait for next season. It's always been Cleveland.
