Arizona Wildcats guard Kerr Kriisa (25) celebrates in the overtime period before the Arizona Wildcats knock the Texas Christian Horned Frogs out of the NCAA Tournament.

The South Region of the NCAA Basketball Tournament has had a few surprises through the first two rounds, but three of the top five seeds are still alive. The Michigan Wolverines are the team that is looking to spoil the party, and they have been extremely impressive through two rounds.

If the top seeds hold, then this would set up a matchup between Arizona and Villanova in the Elite Eight. Houston and Michigan will be trying to mess things up, and the betting lines for the two Sweet 16 games are extremely tight.

Here is a look at the two Sweet 16 games and which team should ultimately win the region.

Villanova Wildcats -5.0 vs. Michigan Wolverines

The first game of the South Region features the Villanova Wildcats against the Michigan Wolverines. Michigan has been extremely impressive up to this point, but it’s hard to overlook the play of Villanova as well.

The Wildcats are an incredibly efficient offensive team, and that is going to be hard for Michigan to stop. The Wolverines want to score from inside the paint, but Villanova has plenty of experience in dealing with other big men.

Don’t expect this to be a very high-scoring game as each team is comfortable winning games on the defensive end of the floor. It’s going to come down to which team will be able to execute the best on offense, and trusting Villanova is the right way to go.

Michigan will keep this game close for a while, but Villanova will pull away and cover the five-point spread.

Arizona Wildcats -1.5 vs. Houston Cougars

The second game of the night features the Arizona Wildcats and Houston Cougars . This is a game in which the spread feels extremely off as the number one seed is a slim 1.5-point favorite.

Houston and Arizona get the job done in two very different ways as the Cougars want to defend and the Wildcats want to score. Houston has been able to shut down nearly every opponent this season, but Arizona is a completely different challenge.

The Wildcats are scoring right around 80 points per game this season, and they also have a big edge in athleticism in this matchup. Houston is widely considered the toughest team in the NCAA Tournament, but being tough doesn’t put the ball in the basket.

Arizona is winning this game, and this is a spread that you should jump all over.

‘Zona Back in Final Four

A Regional Final that features the Arizona Wildcats and Villanova Wildcats would make for a great game, and that’s exactly what should take place. Both Michigan and Houston are tough teams to eliminate, but they just won’t have enough in the Sweet 16 round.

Villanova and Arizona both win games in different ways, but Arizona is an explosive offensive team. Villanova just won’t be able to slow them down enough on Saturday night as Arizona will pull away.

The number 1 seed is getting out of the South Region as the Arizona Wildcats move on.
