Puskar's Picks: Best Thursday Night Football Prop Bets
After what seemed like a long two days without NFL Football, it has returned as we get ready for Thursday Night Football.
Week 2 of the NFL season should be a good one, and what better way to kick it off with the matchup we have tonight as the Los Angeles Chargers head to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs.
Puskar's Picks did in fact strikeout yesterday for the first time in its existence. Since it's Thursday and we have an NFL game on tonight, let's roll with some props from tonights game as our picks for the day.
Bet No. 1: Justin Herbert Over 280.5 Passing Yards (-113)
Just like his opponent in Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert is one of the NFL's top quarterbacks week in and week out. Herbert had 279 yards to go along with three touchdowns in last weeks win against the Raiders.
Why didn't I take the over on Mahomes? Well, it seems like a given that Mahomes and the Chiefs are going to put up big numbers every week. I have the Chiefs winning this game outright tonight, leading me to believe the only way Herbert and the Chargers keep up is by scoring tons of points.
Herbert will have a solid game tonight, and I'm riding the over for him and his yards.
Bet No. 2: Chargers Total Touchdowns Over 2.5 (-154)
Once again, this bet comes down to points.
I think both teams could hit the over when it comes to total touchdowns, as the over in this game as a whole when it comes to points is a bet I also see hitting.
Herbert might win us this bet alone if he throws for three passing touchdowns, yet another bet I would take my chances with. Herbert and Mahomes are going to get into a shootout tonight, making for a very fun game.
Bet No. 3: Total Yards Of Shortest Touchdown Over 1.5 Yards (+120)
Looking for a fun and unique bet in tonights game? Here you go.
For this bet to hit, all you need to happen in this game is for there to not be a one yard touchdown scored.
Anything can happen in this bet like a bad beat pass interference setting someone up on the one yard line. It will be my first time placing this bet, so let's see if it smacks.
Bet No. 4: Austin Ekeler Under 38.5 Receiving Yards (-112)
With the injury to Keenan Allen, I do expect Ekeler to play an even larger role than he already does in the offense. Still, I don't see him going over in receiving yards tonight.
Ekeler had 36 receiving yards in Week 1, as they beat the Raiders by a score of 24-19. Let's hope Ekeler doesn't break loose on a screen play in this game and we should be just fine.
