Thanksgiving Thursday NFL Three Team Teaser
Having a tripleheader on Thanksgiving for NFL games is one of the best Turkey Day traditions. For many NFL fans, it is one of the only times this year they will see the Detroit Lions on the national stage.
Betting on those games can help add some spice to the holiday and perhaps prevent you from drifting into a turkey coma.
Here’s a look at the three-team teaser worth looking into.
Tease Bills/ Lions Over 48.5
The Lions are a beautiful mess. Defensively, Detroit has a hard time stopping anyone. But the Lions’ offense has a powerful rushing attack that has kept them in games. Detroit is averaging 25 points per game, which ranks eighth in the NFL.
Buffalo is a team that is well-suited to torture Detroit’s defense as well. The Bills have an explosive vertical passing game that will test the Lions’ defense.
Detroit allows 28.2 points per game, which ranks last in the league. Buffalo also scores 28.1 points per game, which is the second-best mark in the league.
Tease Cowboys -3.5 vs. Giants
The book may finally be out on the New York Giants. The Giants have lost two of their last three games and were barely able to scrape by Houston in the other game. New York’s offense is predicated on running the ball well.
The Giants’ passing game has been fairly pathetic, only producing 177.3 yards per game, which ranks 28th in the league. While New York’s defense has been solid, it will be pushed to the brink by Dallas.
The 7-3 Cowboys demolished Minnesota last week, and barring a slight stumble against Green Bay two weeks ago, have been lighting up the scoreboard against every team they face.
Dallas was able to limit the Giants to 16 points in the first meeting and win by a touchdown. The Cowboys should have the right formula to win by a similar margin.
Tease Patriots +8.5 vs. Vikings
The Vikings are notable for having a negative points differential despite sporting an 8-2 record. Minnesota has shot to the top of the NFC North by winning a number of one-possession games. It may be no different in this case.
The Patriots have struggled on offense and won a 10-3 decision over the Jets last week. Quarterback Mac Jones has regressed in his second year and hasn’t shown the glimpses of potential he did last season.
Minnesota is a capable offense team that seems to struggle in big spots.
Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has bizarrely struggled in night games. The Minnesota signal caller is 10-18 all-time in night games, including 3-4 in games played on Thursdays.
The Vikings will win this one, but New England’s defense and running game will keep it within a score.
