Cleveland Guardians vs. New York Yankees AL Divisional Series Game 1 Betting Preview
Tuesday night, the Cleveland Guardians will travel to New York to take on the Yankees in Game 1 of this best-of-five divisional round.
For the Yankees, it seems like a World Series or bust type of season. However, they are usually stacked every year, so isn't that the case for them all of the time?
The Guardians, on the other hand, are the complete opposite. They are the youngest team in the league, and also have one of the lowest payrolls in the entire league.
Game 1 Odds:
- Yankees -1.5 (+110), Guardians +1.5 (-134)
- Yankees ML (-205), Guardians ML (+180)
- Over/Under Runs 7
Cal Quantrill of the Guardians will be going up against Gerrit Cole of the New York Yankees.
Cole is the clear-cut ace for the Yankees, and has been all season long. Quantrill, on the other hand, has been a magnificent number three for the Guardians this season, going undefeated at home.
We know the Yankees have the power and have the ability to hit it out of the park at any moment, so the Guardians need to limit the damage on the long ball if they want a chance.
If the Guardians can try to make the Yankees play their brand of ball; base hits, draw walks, and get on base, they definitely have a shot at pulling off the upset.
Remember, nobody expected the Guardians to be here, but everybody expected the Yankees to be here, and beyond.
As cliche as it may seem, when you are a stacked powerhouse team that has to go up against big-time underdogs that are playing on nothing but house money, it can be dangerous for the big dog, especially when the underdog has elite pitching and comes into the series clicking on all cylinders.
Give me Guardias +1.5 tonight, and we'll see if they can turn that into a potential win and make some plus-money tonight in New York.
