Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Toronto Raptors November 28 Betting Preview
The Cleveland Cavaliers (13-7) took care of business against the Detroit Pistons last night to win their fifth game in six tries.
The Toronto Raptors (10-9) are staying afloat, as they won their last game against the Dallas Mavericks.
Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Preview
Donovan Mitchell went off for the Cavs Sunday night, as he dropped 32 points.
Evan Mobley added 20 points and 13 rebounds. Darius Garland provided 19 points and 10 assists.
The Cavs have been dealing with a bevy of injuries recently, as Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, and Kevin Love all missed Sunday’s game.
The beauty of this Cavs team is that it’s so deep, and they still have enough scoring from Mitchell and Garland to overcome the obstacle of losing several key pieces.
The Cavs limited the Pistons to just 16 points in the fourth quarter, as Detroit had been out ahead before then.
“They have one of the best defenses in the NBA, and they really stepped it up in the fourth quarter,” Pistons coach Dwane Casey said. “The baskets we were getting in the first quarter weren't there in the fourth, and we didn't do enough to adjust.”
Toronto Raptors Betting Preview
The Raptors have been missing Pascal Siakam for a few weeks but also Scottie Barnes in recent games, but they still managed to step up and take care of business against the Dallas Mavericks.
OG Anunoby and Fred VanVleet both went off for Toronto against Dallas, as both scored 26 points apiece. VanVleet also dished out seven dimes.
Chris Boucher added 22 points and 13 rebounds.
Aside from that, the Raptors really honed in defensively, as they were able to keep the Mavs to just 100 points, which is an accomplishment in the modern NBA.
Anunoby was viewed as “a threat on all levels” by Mavs forward Maxi Kleber.
“He can shoot the ball from outside, he’s really great on post-ups, he’s physical,” Kleber said.
Anunoby will likely be tasked with trying to shut down Donovan Mitchell, as he has the length and physical tools in his repertoire to bother opposing players.
The Raptors probably won’t have the firepower to get past this team offensively, so it’ll be important for them to hone in defensively.
Odds
The Raptors are favored by a -2 spread, as they’ll be trying to keep their winning ways going despite missing their top two players.
With the uncertain nature surrounding Scottie Barnes’ availability for this game, it might be safer to lean towards the Cavs given that they at least have enough firepower offensively to get by for now.
Expect the Cavs to steal one north of the border and cover the spread.
