New Orleans Pelicans' Zion Williamson dribbles the ball during game vs. Brooklyn Nets

It has been a fun first few weeks of the new NBA season. As every new year begins, there are always some surprises to start the new year. For example, this year has brought the Lakers to an 0-3 start, the 76ers to a 1-3 start, and the improved Trail Blazers have started the new campaign 4-0.

There are just four games on the NBA slate tonight. However, there are some exciting and intriguing matchups to look into from a betting perspective.

Wizards ML (-209) vs. Pistons

The Washington Wizards are off to a pretty solid start to the new season, sitting at 2-1. Their one loss came against the Cavs, finding a way to make a fourth quarter comeback but falling short in overtime.

While the Detroit Pistons currently sit at 1-2, they have played some competitive games this season, as they continue to build a solid young core for the future.

Both teams are healthy, and this game is in Washington. While I like what the Pistons are building, the Wizards are the better team, and coming off of a loss on Sunday and a night of rest and returning home, they come out on top in this one.

Pelicans +4.5 (-110) vs. Mavericks

If Zion Williamson can just stay on the court for a full season, the Pelicans can become a sneaky and dangerous team.

Around Williamson are pieces like Brandon Ingram, CJ McCollum and Jonas Valanciunas. Again, if they can stay healthy, they can be good.

As for the Mavs, you know what you're getting evry single night; an overall pretty solid roster, and a superstar named Luka Doncic that can explode for a 40-piece on any given night. This game should be close, one I wouldn't be surprised if the Pelicans won outright.

Thunder +9.5 (-109) vs. Clippers

Yes, the Clippers are way better than the Thunder. That said, this is a big spread.

The Thunder might be 0-3, but they have lost two of those three games by single digits. The one time they lost more than that, it was ten points. The Clippers might (and should) win this game, but the Thunder can manage to keep the margain in the single digits.

Warriors ML (+104) vs. Suns

The 2-1 Warriors are off to a pretty normal start, one that most probably expected. Stephen Curry is averaging 33 points per game, and all is normal for the Warriors.

The Suns recenty completed a lengthy 22-point comeback against the Mavericks, avoiding a 1-2 start.

I like the Warriors value tonight on plus-money, so I'm banking on them in the late night game in this four-game slate.
